Dang someone should tell him about Venezuela

Nice I’ll check it out! Thanks

That’s the best! Any particular way you keep the reading list organized? I’ve been meaning to catalog all of the books i have in a meaningful way - but in the meantime theyre just bouncing around in my noggin lol.
Also what you mentioned is a big reason i love texts with huge bibliographies; its like a dry, niche cinematic universe!

huh

Maybe even switch it up and go to a bog

“Uhh anyways here’s wonderwall”
gets shot immediately instead

At least 123,000 according to deflock

sure the US has repeatedly looked foolish as a belligerent in asymmetric warfare- but what if they stretched that to multiple fronts? hmm? And maybe foment the coalition of nations against them - imagine the chaos that would cause! victory is all but certain 😎

had to wait a bit, but the okra by me is blooming now too!

i worked in an international body which was supposed to be a rules-based way to resolve conflict (wrt water) without war. And why anyone would ever cooperate with the US is beyond me. The US is the most duplicitous garbage country running, and the State Department are a whole other level of that. It’s all just running cover for international finance - why even pretend there’s statecraft in it? When the US is involved in international efforts, they stop being about achieving collaborative goals and become a farce meant to solely appease the schoolyard bully. There’s talking out of both sides of one’s mouth, then there’s the eldritch abomination of the US, talking out of infinite sides of infinite mouths

Six years and I’m still waiting for this guy to load :/

I’m with you there - it’s totally fine fried - but so are most things lol
Creole/cajun style okra is so good though, and actually emphasizes how great of a vege it is; and I’d imagine Indian style is too - that region tends to have cooked veggies down to an art.

One my favorites; I’m in < zone 5 and while I can’t grow hibiscus in the ground these come back annually! Got a few random things interseeded among the prairie and okra seems to really take to it.
What’s your go to for cooking? Last years pods weren’t very productive but maybe this year I’ll get to experiment

It makes me feel hella old but our community had a clown who pretty much had all of the children’s gigs on lock. I remember her being very impressive with balloon animals and having a pet skunk. She’s undoubtedly the reason I have a positive association with clowns, generally speaking. I believe she died of emphysema a while back; powerful powerful aura

I like this
startlingly accurate

I went from an inherited 99 Buick park Ave to a 5 door Prius hatchback (2019), and I’ve been super happy with it. The thing I most hear from people is “that’s not going to fit in there” followed by “huh holy shit” as I’m driving away with it loaded. Examples include: electric organ; furniture; stone/mulch/dirt; lumber (assuming it’s under 10’); tandem bicycle. In my experience it hauls better than the f150 I had to drive for work, but obviously doesn’t have the frame for trailering (I don’t have any welder friends).
I also put a rack on top and can easily haul a canoe and bike up there; and have the back loaded with other gear. Very comfortable to sleep in, I’ll use it for trips where I don’t feel like setting up a tent, and it’s nice to watch the stars through the big hatch. Plus it’s been so fucking funny making people mad by complaining about gas prices these days; I swear I go through like $20 of gas a month!!
But yeah I think anyone in this thread is right; what’s the deal? Do you people work for a living or something? :p

thanks friendo - glad it was insightful! I just like shouting into the void, so I’m happy when it’s somewhat comprehensible

Good call. Personal projects can be so joyful. It’s felt like crunch city no matter where one goes, so there’s gotta be some way to get away from it. I tend to enjoy high stress work - probably because it lets me ignore my needs lol until I’m eventually like “oh I feel like absolute shit”
I reeeeeeeeally wanted the big bionicle set with the motorcycle guy - but even then my folks weren’t spending >$50 on legos.
Edit: Upon investigation it was actually lego technic roboriders
