    I’m actually mostly annoyed, because Vlad is diminutive for Vladislav, and I always have to spend 20 seconds discerning, who they are talking about.

      Maybe they are Polish lmao, here the diminutives for Vladislav (Władysław) and Vladimir (Włodzimierz) only differ by one letter: Władek and Włodek

          Polish W is similar to V like in Russian names pronounced in English. Ł is basically same as English W
