A new Labor Department rule out this week aims to make it easier for millions of low-wage workers to get employee benefits and other protections
- Article says Uber and Lyft put out statements saying it wont affect their biz, but they also are super mad its passing - Seems like this could be one of those things that passes AND actually helps people. Time will tell tho - Pretty much. They’re saying they’ll try to litigate it rather than comply. If it holds, people end up better off. - If they lose they should be forced to pay people for the time they spent in litigation as unpaid wages.
- Litigate it - cost of doing business

- A good rule to see.
- But labor officials say they have carefully considered possible litigation and are confident that the rule would withstand a court challenge. - From an honest legal system, probably. - I hope they have something else ready to go for when the courts strike this down.
