China gets so much glazing and okay I don’t have an issue with that, but damn on the other hand People’s Korea is treated like some run down shithole barely hanging onto life.
Yet their capital seems more advanced than ours, their countryside is probably less run down than our own. I get that we’re supposed to unify members of different classes and I have no interest of taking away your treats, but can we at least treat people’s lives with a basic set of dignity. Given the context and how much fucking sanctions are placed on Democratic Korea they deserve more respect than what I’m seeing. We here (Baltics) literally get funded by the richest people on earth and still fuck up The only reason my country hasn’t collapsed is thanks to everything socialists had done and left us with.
Can we like stop treating countries as monoliths in general? That’s anti-intellectual and bad for the cause. South Korea, Japan, Estonia etc. they’re not full of fascists, sure the governments are, but fascists are always a small minority, the people supporting them are reactionary meat bags.
Additional rant, skippable.
Like I’m gonna confess to you. I’m scared, don’t want to get hurt and I hardly have any bonds to anyone. A lot of theory that’s taught assumes that you already have a group you’re willing to fight for, increasing amount of people have become alienated and have nobody. I don’t want to ask for help because I think other people deserve it more. I’m forced to lie about being fine I’ve been hiding my desires for 20+ years and putting other people above myself. I can’t afford to transition, can’t afford to travel to events, can’t afford my medication. I have been treating myself alone just using books and manuals and I’ve studied humanity and human behavior so extensively I wish I could forget. I already know that if I do what I can do then nothing will change and if I risk changing things, then someone will think I’m a monster. My family’s pet had gotten sick and at the same time as I got a request for help from a human, how do you stay sane when making decisions like that? One of the main reasons why I’m a socialist is because I want to make sure nobody ever has to make a choice like that ever again. And yet I’ve done horrible things in the past, sometimes knowingly and without care and idk what changed me, but something did. If you want to agitate against them depict them as a laughing stock, not evil, make them feel bad for putting on that uniform. Once you have the power to do so you could even reclaim what they stole. You can’t just ban Nazi imagery and expect to change shit, for gods sake look at Germany right now. If proper denazification was actually carried out you could paint a swastika on your home and people would think it means good fortune. This is not possible immediately, but as long as that super simple, historically globally used, pair of sticks, makes people scared then we haven’t yet done a proper de-Nazification. I know I’m way ahead of schedule I just want to put my thoughts out there somewhere and I’m like high-key tired of constantly conceding every inch to the enemy when they just keep appropriating everything.
I think most scary of all is the more I hang around online, anywhere really, the more I see myself reverting back to my own old habits, which only fuels resentment or makes me flee, only to return again because idk where else to go. And I know what the solution is I could start working on my own thing and doing more of what I want to see others do. Unfortunately I am not sharing it and instead I’m writing yet another rant about other people, because I don’t want to come across as egotistical, self-interested, selfish, self-obsessed. It doesn’t even matter what I do someone is going to assume it’s all for profit anyways.
And idk how to address that. I see this thinking constantly applied to Kim’s family, for instance, every time people see a “flaw” like Kim Jong-Un being a bit weighty they think he’s eating all the grain in the country. Have you considered that maybe he’s just got other priorities??? Or this guy who I was watching go to DPRK and he’s like “Omg it’s so sad how children are taught their leader invented better chairs, that’s all they can do?” they’re kids JFC what do you want them to be taught how to build an ICBM from the crib? Of course the children would be taught childish and simple things. I’m sure it’s like unintentional usually, but for crying out loud can we stop treating people like caricatures?
I feel like we’re talking about two groups of people with a tiny middle of the venn diagram. Most china glazers will at the very least give the DPRK credit for resisting american imperialism and building a stable society. Libs who hate china will say that KJU executed everyone with an anti-air gun for not wearing his haircut. You’re right, they should get more credit, but I feel like the 2025 V-Day parade solidified the praiseworthy position of the DPRK in the minds of communists at least.
Yeah that’s the struggle isn’t it? How can I connect these two groups of people who are at odds in their immediate interests, yet short term cooperation would lead to long term prosperity. This is a real scenario that is possible and accomplished, if they choose to go along with it. The fact that they don’t shows how ignorant they really are. They could literally stop at any moment and nobody would even have the power to hold them accountable, that the bourgeoise choose to destroy themselves instead really speaks for itself of what they are…
