I think I’m mostly curious about why people usually seem to want to kill the “evil” baby when doing the time machine thought experiment.

The 1st thing that came to my mind when someone asked me the question, was to educate the child to be a better person. At least when I study history what I try to do is not find good or bad people I try to fixate them in their circumstances, what they did, what they wrote/spoke, who did they try to address in the speech, who wrote down the information, who translated it etc.

I think our current major struggles stem from the fact that instead of learning from history we just paint one evil guy and blame everything on them. Me doing this is a waste of time and won’t change anyone’s mind I just wanted to confirm my suspicions so that others don’t need to and also it has probably resulted in at least a few people assuming I’m a secret sympathizer, because a lot of us have been societally conditioned to focus on the headlines and draw quick conclusions, which reduces my chances of success. The people who do continuously go out to protest are likely those who directly face problems themselves that they cannot escape, but those people also have like no power and they aren’t united. If something happens to you who will take care of the child?
