Nothing important here. I just want to see how many people are moving away from Reddit.
Haven’t been to Reddit in a week. The urge seems to be fading.
How does everyone from Reddit feel about the lemmy experience?
As of this moment, there are currently:
- 476 subscribers from lemmy.world
- 61 subscribers from kbin.social
- 30 subscribers from lemmy.ml
It’ll take time, and most importantly content, to entice migration.
Made an account last night. I feel like a tech-averse senior trying to understand how the fediverse works but I’ll get there lol
Me me me! I was on reddit for 10 years. Honestly excited for Lemmy. It really reminds me of the “feel” reddit had when I joined. Hundreds of upvotes on posts, with a few in the thousands. Not needing to refresh the front page 100 times a day to see all the new content. No one really knowing what they’re doing XD I am going to miss a community for every little thing, but that’ll come with time.
I’m trying to comment and have a few ideas for posts I’ll submit. Gotta keep the content and comments coming, I would love to see this overtake reddit over the next 5-10 years cuz I’m in it for the long haul lol
Arch user here. Just want everyone to acknowledge my existence.
I will guess that 99% of people on the Lemmyverse that joined this month came here due to Reddit.
I’ve been a Reddit for more than half of my life. Joined when I was 11, am almost 24 now. But it seems like it’s time to make an end to it soon.
12 year reddit vet reporting in. Can’t stomach in the least the shady shit they tried to pull, and continue to pull. Being anti-consumer when your entire site exists based entirely on consumer generated content and moderation, is a bad fucking look and I hope they suffer for it.
Coming here from Reddit. Will move away completely if Boost for Reddit dies on June 30 (will also move even if it doesn’t, fuck Reddit)
I’ve deleted my reddit account which ive had since the digg exodus. Uninstalled Boost and moved on… except every time I open my phone I still instinctively go to open it. Muscle memory indicates I may have had a reddit addiction.
Reporting for service :) Was on Reddit for 15 years, started in newsgroups, then Digg, then Reddit had nearly 400k karma. Nuked my account with redact and closed it. To be honest it really hurt, I will miss, do miss my communities.I was really active on several, contributed contend, links, posts and made friends.
I feel a bit lost and sad, but it is also exiting to be part of something new and fresh, so hopefully here’s to new beginnings.I can understand needing to be profitable. That’s business sense. No profit, no Reddit. But the CEO, Spez, being an absolute dick. Nah, that did it for me. Reddit was driven by the spirit of community. The community is now moving. Fuck Spez.
from my long distant memory of reddit (~1 week) 1000 upvotes and 300 comments is comparable or greater than a large majority reddit threads on non default subreddits, which is great to see 😁
It’s my cake day today but I’m still not using Reddit. Still trying to figure out Lemmy but I’m glad I’m here
14 years on Reddit. 4 days clean.
