I’m okay with neo-Nazi idiots on the front line, just don’t give them any guns and keep them there until there’s not enough left to pin a medal on anymore.
That fist on the chest is only the first part of that salute and you know they aren’t showing photos for that lmao
I mean, they’re craven enough to deny that a Totenkopf is a Nazi symbol, they’ll never admit the same about the Wolfsangel or Sonnenrad
Its not even denial. Its clear and present indifference, which to me signals a clear rot at the center of western society. Its the result of demonizing the east during and after the cold war and the collapse of the USSR. Nazis are gone! We killed them in WW2! The Soviets on the other hand, scattered like rats into the dark, laying in wait among us.
Endless rehabilitation for Nazis, infinite condemnation for Socialists.
Side note but theae dipshits should know by now that if Volodomyr ZelenSSky is visiting your front line bunkers, you’re about to be the subject of a Russian Telegram video.
Number of idiots in the comments saying “uh it’s 44, for the unit number” yeah okay. Why did they design the 4 such that it is visually indistinguishable from the sieg rune from more than a meter or two away, you absolute clowns.
The most believable excuse I’ve heard is that they are adopting Nazi aesthetics “ironically” to trigger the Russians that slander all Ukrainian opposition to them as Nazism, so the story goes. Like how leftists act tongue-in-cheek online as the extremist caricatures they’re portrayed as.
But instead of posting Slammer memes it’s: “Unlimited genocide on the russian [sic] horde” with Bandera or Hitler in place of Qin Shi Huang, with few hints of absurdity or insincerity. Also acting as Nazis IRL in an actual war.
Ukrainian psychological warfare strategy, colorized.

That doesn’t make sense, wouldn’t Russians be even more encouraged to sing up and fight if they saw their enemies wearing Nazi uniforms? Why not adopt communist symbols ironically? They like to say Putin = Hitler and Z = Swastika that Russia is a fascist state, Ukraine going full communist would be the cherry on top.
From an outsider’s perspective it is nonsensical and self-defeating, the reason I found it most believable is because I can imagine what mental gymnastics are at play:
Believing so hard that you’re not a Nazi because of this or that, your peers believe the same, so using Nazi symbols together obviously isn’t a symbol of their true beliefs*, it’s just to make the Russians go
.Plus, who cares what the Russians think, they lie about you constantly anyways, calling everything an Azov base
.*Platner did this when he downplayed his Totenkopf tattoo by talking about how un-Nazi his beliefs are.
The West voted against Russia’s UN resolutions condemning Nazism and racism because they didn’t want their support used by “Russian agents” to attack support for Ukraine, so they end up voting against anti-Nazi resolutions which if anything was a bigger propaganda win for Russia than going along.
In both cases it’s preaching to the crowd + smug self-righteousness.
In the post-soviet states, there’s been a big push to associate nationalists of the past as the freedom fighters, we have statues built for generals who allied with the reich, they are presented as opportunists who were allying with the lesser evil, to give our countries liberty. The new mission of the new age nationalists, in their eyes, is to “actually” get rid of all the “real” problems, within the established borders. They’re not targeting “victims”, they’re targeting enemies of the state.
So I can understand why they would wear this kind of stuff. I can understand why it’s used to encourage the idea of a strong nation state with it’s own values that doesn’t care about what anyone else has to say about them. They see an opportunity to realize the creation of their glorious independent nation, that their ancestors failed to do. They don’t wanna “oppress” anyone, they just want to make people assimilate or leave. And forcing assimilation, within the country according to the local national values, isn’t viewed as a crime or a bad thing to do.
At least that’s how I see it. But it is convenient to simply say anyone who makes arguments like my own is simply a triggered bot who doesn’t understand they’re just doing a little trolling.
Like how leftists act tongue-in-cheek online as the extremist caricatures they’re portrayed as.

Why would they give the Russian propaganda machine (as they understand it) more ammo to credibly claim they are Nazis? That is a weak excuse.
