I’m a hyperpunctual person who had to learn to appreciate that just because some people have difficulty meeting a schedule it doesn’t necessarily mean they don’t respect me. Some people have a lot going on, even if just figuratively speaking.
Interesting. I always see it as “I chose to be there at the specific time, the clock helps us both respect the others time better”. Its a coordination device. Early in life we don’t choose the time usually, like school and job etc. So might come with a flavor of tyranny. Interesting
As someone with ADHD who is looking into getting medicated, I’m often late. sometimes its just because my brain made it very difficult to get up and start getting ready on time, other times it’s because i was going to be on time but one of a million things distracted me or required my attention and bam ive bled half an hour
This. When I’m late, it’s generally because of my health issues. If I can, I try to set meeting times so that I have at least a chance of making it on time, but my issues make planning rather difficult.
Being on time is about respecting other peoples time, not about obeying anything.

Same boat. Never perfect but i do what i can. I plan a lot of buffer times for things to go wrong for important things.

I’ve found people who are consistently late do not respect others.
Maybe it’s a “late to the party” kind of thing.
