Going from my weak-ass worm light on my Gameboy to the sheer power of the fucking sun full color screen of the game gear was wild to young me. Especially since it was much older.
It is very funny to see Xbox rushing to get rid of any motte to their business model in a bizarre attempt to compete with steam.
It’s to compete with Sony. Sony was killing them with exclusivity, so they went the opposite route of inclusivity, to a still limited extent. They want to be on anything and everything, as long as they can have control over your system. Their shit doesn’t work on Linux, for example.
