You could get the remaining cast together for a retrospective, round table interview kind of thing. I would be perfectly fine if they didn’t record any more of the show, attempt to do a “Friends 20 years later” thing. The world doesn’t need that.
the Friends cast reunited in 2021 for an HBO Max special titled Friends: The Reunion. The whole group revisited the set and looked back on filming the series.
They already did one. It wasn’t particularly entertaining, but they were all together and talking about the show.

Pre-9/11 problems of the middle class were mostly the focal point of that show and not much of that translates to today’s viewers.
Friends showed to teenager me that it’s possible to live in a preppy, spacious apartment in the most expensive district of the city, and living the life to the fullest with a low to mid paying job. Nowadays, that is not possible. Working hard and saving alone is not enough anymore. Even being frugal is not enough. Pre 9/11 lifestyle (I would say more like pre-2009 financial crisis) is no longer the truth.
It was never possible. That was a common observation while the show was airing.
Well yeah, you wouldn’t make it exactly the same, but why couldn’t you make a similar show about a modern group of friends? How I Met Your Mother and New Girl are two shows I can think of that did exactly that after Friends ended.
It’s interesting how How I Met Your Mother started one year after Friends, but at least to me it seems like there hasn’t been any show that picked up the legacy of those two shows.
The legacy went to The Office and Parks and Rec.

Parks and Rec ended a year after How I Met Your Mother, The Office a year before. It could’ve arguably went on to New Girl (ended in 2018) or Brooklyn Nine-Nine (ended in 2021). At the moment live action sitcom is kind of dead.

They are trying to resurrect the genre with The Paper, but I’ve not seen it so can’t comment.

Depends on what she means by reunion, a new series of shows or just a get together, they already did the get together thing, so really no need for another one.
I’m not saying do it, I’d urge them not to, but if NBC wanted to drag this on it’s possible without needing the original cast to sign on to it. They could just use the original characters children and whatever friends they may have. The Bing twins, the Buffet Triplets, Ben and Emma, they are all possible to use and do call backs to fan fave episodes.
They could have a spin-off show with just one of the characters. I’m sure that would be just as successful. Or maybe one of the characters could host a car show.

I am big fan of the OG X-Files but the seasons filmed later not so much. I read Coogler was involved in the reboot and that guy seems pretty good, so I had higher hopes. What have you heard that makes you think it will be shitty?
