It’s like dangling the only two targets you actually have in front of a gigant that has millions of those and happens to be absolutely nuts. Or bees. Its like going up to a beehive and just shaking it around a bit.

The force is not large enough to invade Venezuela. This is more of a force you position if you want to do some larger scale regime change operation. You know some mercenaries combined with Venezuelans who hate the government. Remove Maduro and US puppet. The flyover is meant as as sign that the Venezuelan military is behind Maduro.

Also just to say it, this can backfire badly. Venezula has a shit ton of gangs, is a massive country and to a large part covered in rainforest. Not a good combination.

Of course we’re going to start a war with Venezuela for no goddamn reason.

We need a whistleblower to come out and talk about the ship they blew up.

If my history serves me correct … America is about to tell everyone that Venezuela fired first or attacked them in some way and killed American service men … and now the US has no choice but to defend itself -> by attacking and invading the country.

We would not invade, they would blow shit up, blow up their infrastructure, bomb them. Even they are not stupid enough to do an invasion at this point in time.

What they would do is try to seduce a faction of the army to initiate a coup, maybe in that case we might contribute some troops to a specific action to help. I don’t think these guys are capable enough to pull that off though.

…only to lose the subsequent war 10 years down the road but never admit they lost because they only withdrew their army since the country is safe again (AKA they already taken as much oil as they possibly can so they are no longer interested in waging a war).

I have to wonder, are you and people like you just making a common joke? Or do you really think the US extracted oil from Afghanistan? Because they didn’t. They used the invasion to strong arm OPEC; but they themselves didn’t take oil. It wasn’t about increasing oil supply.

The US grew heroin there instead. And only left when stronger synthetics (fentanyl) made heroin unprofitable.

The government and taxpayers did not receive a single benefit from Iraq or Afghanistan despite paying for it all.

And yes true to form the CIA used money from the drug trade to pay for Black Ops we can presume.

But that does not mean that our political leaders and their donor Pals did not get oil from Iraq. All gains are privatized and kicked back to the polits.

I was under the impression that the point was to decrease the oil supply to force people to buy more American oil.

Too long that poor oil has been held down, segregated, just because it is heavy crude with a high sulfur content It suffers rampant bigotry.

Central and South America nations need the nuclear bomb yesterday. I’m dead ass serious. So does every African nations. Western nations are testing the waters for a middle east style take over. As we continue down this self destructive process it’s a matter of when, not if. Having the bomb is the only way to get true self determination in today’s world.

They should just regime change themselves and hand over the oil if they know what’s good for them.

If you get rid of the US’s 11 CATOBAR supercarriers and only use its STOVL “amphibious assault ships”, the US Navy still has more planes than any other navy in the world.

With the supercarriers, the US Navy has nearly twice as many naval aircraft as the rest of the world combined.
