canadian here. just weighing in.
some might be saying “hey im not gonna succumb to FOMO and buy a gun”
buy a fuckin gun.
this doesnt end when trump dies. this will go on long after hes dead, invest in your future safety.
buy a gun, practice, secure yourself, your friends, and your families.
i fucking hate guns. i think they are terrible things. but id rather be the person pulling the trigger and saving my life, or the lives of those i care for. or at least making them think twice before attacking others like me or mine.
i value my life more than that of a modern fascist nazi foot soldier. you should to.
prepare for the worst, because im not sure if yall have been paying attention. but things have been getting worse, every single second since 2016.
its not going anywhere unless you fight it.
Can’t wait to hear about the black market for rainbow gun owners to buy guns. Would probably be more quality and trustworthy than usual.
Making them illegal will totally eliminate their ability to have one. /s
But it’s worked so well with drugs!!!
Just like Reagan and the Black Panthers, Republicans have no problem with gun control as long as it doesn’t target cis white people
I think this has people really worried, which is understandable, but I’m not concerned at this point for a few reasons. I’d just take a deep breath before trying to FOMO-buy a gun.
- Nothing has actually happened yet. It’s just hearsay at this point.
- It’s unenforceable. Conservatives used loopholes for years when Dems were in office to avoid filling out forms and being subject to background checks. People are still buying guns from unlicensed sellers at gun shows even though it’s illegal in many states. Chances are you know someone who has guns.
- This is controversal even among conservatives. I’ve been seeing a lot of comments from saying this will set a bad precedent and repeated refrains of “Shall not be infringed,” often in all caps. It hasn’t been uncommon for a conservative to defend gun control targeting trans people, and then being called gun-stealing “Democrats” by other conservatives in the replies. There’s also some “I don’t like 'em, but we all the right to defend themselves,” sometimes including slurs. Accidental allies?
- There’s nothing wrong with buying a gun, if you don’t have one and need to fund other stuff, that money would be better spent on a Go Bag or toward moving to a Blue state.
That being said, Republicans can never say “They’re taking away our guns” ever again.
Trump is a bigger gun grabber than any recent dem president. He banned bump stocks via executive order after the Vegas shooting, illegally it turns out, as courts later reversed the ban.
As long as fascists have guns we will hold on to ours
If this is in response to the last mass shooting, then have I got news about the purpotrators of the dozens of other mass shootings in the last decade.
You’ll still be able to own ammonium nitrate and diesel. Just saying.
