They’ve been trying to spin literally any protests or even just token resistance as criminal, and rural voters, by and large, absolutely believe that cities are hives of crime and iniquity.
It’s not just that: I have a brother who’s not even that conservative but seems to sincerely believe the Gaza protests on college campuses are terrorism and Trump is justified in cutting medical research associated with those colleges
I don’t get how the medical research at a university (which benefits the country) should be tied to protesters anyway. Even if they were actually “terrorists”.
It’s so stupid I don’t even have the words.
This hits me especially hard. My little one had a medical crisis as a baby: Harvard sponsored research over a couple decades turned his condition from 70% fatal to 90% survival. My baby is alive and going to college this year because of this research. How dare they play games with this?
Because we are dealing with literally the worst people.
It’s not just rural voters. I was just at a dentist apt in suburban Washington and the hygienist was talking about how her son just moved away from California and that she was glad he was getting away because of “how bad the crime has gotten in California”.

Trump is the most dangerous criminal in the states. If he really wanted to clean up crime, he’d turn himself in.

Yes, but those are crimes that Taco and his affiliates are accused of. What crimes are they supposedly combating? If they want to drastically reduce crime, Taco should be arrested and thrown in prison, along with most of his staff, administration, and his supporters.
The fact that the national guard isn’t arresting him means he didn’t do it.
