Cuba has taken a significant step forward in trans rights by approving a law that allows individuals to self-declare their gender without requiring surgery.

Meanwhile… Puerto Rico banned gender affirming care to appease the churchies and MAGA people.

    🤦🏻‍♂️

i’m serious about this: does anyone think there may come a point where Cuba will take in gender/sexual identity asylum seekers?

They lack a lot of essential medical items for trans people. Even for a lot of normal medical procedures in general. Due to sanctions.

I’m not an expert by any means but personally I don’t see this happening. I don’t think Cuba can afford to take in asylum seekers, maybe if the embargo were lifted and after some time but even then it doesn’t seem likely to me.

maybe we could bring useful things. critical components, electronics, medical supplies, etc. hypothetically. do a flottila, hope to avoid getting drone striked before meeting up with the cuban coast guard

but yeah i didn’t think so.

my dream is the embargo becomes meaningless because the U.S. embargos itself. and Cuba can be brought into the greater central/south american nascent socialist project

By that time you’d even have more options than just Cuba anyway

what about runescape moderators who were wrongfully accused of cheating and had their moderator status removed? would we qualify for asylum? surely they must have sympathy for SOME people…

Cuba is poor as hell lol. They’re not trying to take in a ton more people. Unless you’ve got some ideas on how they can improve their economic situation :D
