Yes, attacking military targets is what’s meant to happen during war, not random kidnappings or bombing music festivals.

Israel does disproportionate response, but they are responding to fucking something.

EDIT : People in this thread think that Palestine has been behaving like an innocent sacrificial lamb and is basically in the same situation as Ukraine.

If you think Palestinian attacks on civillians started in oct7 you are also an idiot of a different sort.

so it’s not the same. got it.

Just to put my actual opinion out there, fuck 'em both. There’s a reason israel needs “the iron dome” and israel keeps doing psycho shit like the past year, and illegal land grabs. The only difference is that palestine has no international recogition and shitty firepower, I guarantee if the roles were reversed , it would be the same, but with israel on the suffering side.

There’s your lack of imagination. “We have to commit genocide, it’s self defense”.

When apartheid ended , did they just reversed apartheid and put all the whites in Bantulands? after ww2, did they put all the blond Germans in death camps?

how about just abolish apartheid in Israel and give everyone equal rights?

                  look into https://onestatecampaign.org/en/

Maybe there’s a reason Palestinians are fighting for their basic survival. while Israel are fighting to steal land. and don’t give me shit about protecting jews, if they did they would have responded to oct7th immediately rather than wait 7 fucking hours (I could have driven from the furthest place in Israel and be there before the IDF) to shoot at israeli civilians running away, or bomb their own bases with soldiers still in, or shell houses when Israelis inside. Or even gunning down naked free hostages in the steets of gaza because they couldn’t tell the difference between naked unarmed men begging for help, and Israeli naked unarmed men begging for help.

and that just recently, did you know that Israel bombed Jewish communities in Iraq to force them to flee to Israel?

Israel is a cancer for Jews.

Omg could it be that it never was a war (a confrontation between two sovereign countries) and more like an internal uprising against a genocide?

Israel’s government issued a formal declaration of war against Hamas on 7th October 2023. But that doesn’t give it the right to attack Syria.

You don’t need to recognise the entity you are declaring war against as a state to do so. Cameroon declared war against Ambazonia (separatist group) on 4th December 2017.

Notably for this conflict, the First Syrian Republic declared war against Israel in 1948. While the two never agreed to a peace treaty, the First Syrian Republic no longer exists, nor its successor, nor its successor’s successor, Israel’s attack against Syria is—to put it very, very generously—of extremely dubious legality under international law. I don’t claim to be an expert in international law, but after the Assad regime was overthrown, I would consider the new Syrian Arab Republic as a legally different polity than its predecessor. I don’t recall hearing any confirmations from the new Syrian government that they want to continue war against Israel, so if that is all correct then Israel just attacked a neutral country that so happened to be populated by Arabs sympathetic to the Palestinian cause, which is honestly par for the course for the Israeli military.

No, it’s been a war for a while. It was even called the six day war. Also, it’s been a war between palestine and israel, it’s just that the palestinians have barely any resources, and israel is armed to the teeth.

you guys need to start learning english before you comment on shit.

Just doesn’t mean justice. It’s used in this context to indicate the only difference, since if the firepower roles were reversed, the situation would still be the exact same.

Anyone throwing their support behind either side thinking they’re all sunshine and rainbows is an idealistic , blinded idiot.

Not a war, but mass murder and genocide. But an Israeli defender like you would never call the conflict by it’s real name

The context clues would’ve been relevant maybe for Assad, but not for the new government of Syria, which alot of people have claimed was/is actually being rather collaborationist with Israel.

Hamas attacked Israel so Israel attacked Palestine
US funded Israel so Israel attacked Iran.
Iran attacked Israel back so US attacked Iran.
US told both sides to stop so Israel attacked Iran.
          Israel attacked Syria.

That’s the context so far. What am I missing about Syria?

Doesn’t that context miss the first 50 years of Israrel attacking Palestine before the Hamas attack?

nassreddin : does this mean we have the right to bomb the idf’s hq like that to protect the palestinian people

this is what my response is to. the stuff about syria is not in the context of what I’m taking about.
