Generally I agree with you. However, I’m still not convinced that there is anything approaching a net positive outcome from religion either currently or historically, and I would in fact argue it is that exact kind of priming that led to the rise of the neo-fascist movement in the first place.
At least with religious cults there is some good that comes from them. With this cult it is all very, very bad.
It would seem that you are suggesting that there is some type of positive impact on society from religion or magical thinking that causes you to hold it in higher regard, or consider it to be at least less dangerous than the post-modern conservative ideoligical movement.
I understand what you are saying, I just disagree with that premise…partly because of the fact that the two are fundamentally interwoven ideologically but also because it is clear that the destructive cult dynamics of religion are what psychologically primed these followers of the post-modern conservative movement in the first place.
