The concentration camp sits atop a concrete airport pad, isolated in the swamplands of the Florida Everglades. Trump claimed the tents are air-conditioned, but the extreme heat and humidity of the Florida summer make humane conditions virtually impossible, particularly if generators fail or fuel supplies run out. If a hurricane were to strike the area, the tents would offer no meaningful protection. The result could be catastrophic, with an unknown number of potential deaths…

As part of a far-right media blitz aimed at normalizing the construction of remote concentration camps for immigrants and political opponents of the US government, the Republican Party is now selling merchandise to promote the Florida camp—complete with hats emblazoned with alligators. It’s the American fascist equivalent of the Nazis selling beer koozies or ashtrays to commemorate Auschwitz…

blob-no-thoughts the parchmentarian or Secretariat or whatever said it wasn’t allowed so really it’s the voter’s fault for not electing enough Democrats and that’s why we can’t have nice things. You greedy leftists should just be grateful the camps are being run efficiently now instead of acting as corruption syphons for the rich! Buttigieg is only using contractors who operated in a diverse neighborhood for 4 years and are pell grant recipients.

IRL just a week or so ago some fucking lib told me “they get paid though” when I was talking about people in prison being used for all kinds of labor. They didn’t even know private prisons are a thing. They’re over 60 years old and are even openly dem in a very small, conservative town. Blew my mind that they didn’t even know about private prisons

You’d be surprised how many Dem voters feel this way, even if they are a member of a currently protected group (not saying class to keep income levels distinct, although in official parlance ©️, that’s the term).

They get paid like $0.10 / hour and most of it gets spent at the commissary where essentials (like toothpaste and soap) are sold at normal prices you see outside of prisons. It’s deliberate so the prison can make money off their inmates while making sure a black market exists they can use to justify cruelty.

I’m preaching to the choir, but it’s frustrating how liberals don’t understand the 13th. Ammendment.

I watched Jasmine Crockett last week taking about the Big Ugly Bill being stuck in the Senate and she made a comment about “this is what .your Republican…representative want.” The pause made me wonder if she almost said “and Democrat,” but obviously we can’t know.

Americans maybe soon to learn the specific differences between concentration, labor, and death camps, most will probably have overlap in function though.
