Meet new CBS CEO, same as old CBS CEO (more importantly, same shareholders) who said when Trump was winning in 2016:

It may not be good for America, but it’s damn good for CBS

I’ve never seen anything like this, and this going to be a very good year for us. Sorry. It’s a terrible thing to say. But, bring it on, Donald. Keep going.

In addition to the cowards reasoning it’s also because Paramount (parent company of CBS) and Skydance Media are trying to merge.

That deal is valued at ~8 billion dollars, so settling for a couple million in that context makes sense.

Additionally since it’s a merger it requires FCC approval and Trump appointed the FCC chairman and is known to meddle in things.

So these companies are trying to play nice with Trump so they can merge.

Basically paying $20 to make this go away is the cost of doing business. Corruption all the way.

Obviously both CBS/Paramount are chicken shit fuckers that have decided it’s cheaper/easier to capitulate and cut a deal rather than fight for whatever remains of their “honor”/“freedom”.

      Good thing I don’t watch either one… 🖕 🤡 💩

I mean, I fully expect them to settle and that’s depressing, but so far they haven’t. The article is paywalled, but it looks like this is what a mediator has proposed, that’s all.

It appears President Donald Trump won’t be getting anywhere close to the $20 billion he demanded from CBS and its parent company Paramount Global now that a mediator proposed a $20 million settlement instead.

The proposal would include a $17 million payment to Trump’s presidential library, $2 million more than ABC’s settlement with Trump in December, and another $3 million in legal fees and public service announcements covering antisemitism
