Certainly, but we’re seeing how effective that is with the courts being captured.

You’ll ask your questions in email and then security will show up at your desk saying you’ve been asked to leave the premises. They will use their access to the Treasury to stop paying you. You can try to sue to get your job back, and you might get it back, until a higher level applet judge or the Supreme Court itself overrules the decision and you’re out again.

Its shocking to see the rule of law break down in real time.

The alternative is “just following orders.” I recognize that not everyone has the financial safety to lose their job over civil disobedience, but the things that are currently happening are only possible because people allow it. The best way to resist fascism is to gum up the works; don’t take it from me, take it from the CIA.

I don’t think this applies the same here. That dock assumes the new regime still wants the services to function in the takeover. The current leadership doesn’t want it to function. They would be happy if you “gum up the works” because they don’t want the works to work anyway.

Fair point. But if my job is directed to make an unethical change, I’m sure as hell going to get it in writing first. If I get fired I’ll take them to court. Or maybe they’ll panic and rehire me like they’ve done with other agencies. People are starting to see the incompetence of this administration and I’ll be happy to provide another example.

Absolutely, continue to fight the good fight, but the rules are different for this battle and the path to winning is not nearly as clear.
