The thing you have to remember is that none of these people are journalists maduro-coffee

Unironically there’s practically no actual journalists in the west. They’re either aware of what they’re doing or brainwashed to such an extent they don’t notice it, which is pretty piss-poor for someone whose task is to peer through propaganda and tell what’s actually going on. Both groups need to be buried like the bones this pup buries in their back yard

“western journalists are responsible for poisoning the minds of entire populations.” While I generally agree with you it’s awfully hexbear of you to single out “western” instead of generally all.

I’m sure the “journalists” in Russia are doing just as much to poison the minds of their citizens.

Edit: Didn’t even realize this is in the Hexbear community lol, I shouldn’t of spoken out of turn I’m sorry. Please don’t shun me

I guess you can say that while all journalists are propagandists, they are much more succesful propagandists in the west. Probably because people are far less sceptical of the news here. There’s that old joke about a KGB agent and a CIA agent having a chat in a bar.

“I have to admit, I’m always so impressed by Soviet propaganda. You really know how to get people worked up,” the CIA agent says.

“Thank you,” the KGB says. “We do our best but truly, it’s nothing compared to American propaganda. Your people believe everything your state media tells them.”

The CIA agent drops his drink in shock and disgust. “Thank you friend, but you must be confused… There’s no propaganda in America.”

Of course, I always find talking to hexbear users interesting. I appreciate those of you who take the time to try and help me (and others) understand your perspective. The memeing and clowning on outsiders is usually pretty amusing from my point of view as well.

That’s a very nice and healthy attitude to have. I’m really happy to hear it.

The memeing and clowning comes from a relatively reasonable place too tbh. It’s incredible how many people will pop into hexbear, say something they don’t know anything about, get defensive when people engage like how I engage with you and then call all of us bots or cry about civility when people start treating them how they’re treating people. I’ve seen the term “wrecker” used to describe the behaviour. I think there’s been a lot of wreckers, so people are just a bit agressive when they perceive people acting in bad faith. That means well-meaning people end up catching strays, which is really sad.
I came here from another comm some time ago and I had gotten the hexbear treatment too. Took a while to realise why I’d gotten it.

It’s really convenient to selectively discard the idea of American Exceptionalism when it comes time to talk about the most money ever, by any civilization in history, spent on propagandizing their own people

The thing you don’t incorporate into your analysis is the fact that there’s one giant capitalism that exists in the world and it has centered itself in the American state. You never actually compare apple to apple, let alone acknowledge oranges.

I bet this is a touchy topic in this channel but isn’t that exactly what Russian journalists are doing with Ukraine?

Just like the west as well.

Ahhhhha, yes I see. I didn’t realize NATO stationed their troops in popular shopping malls far from the front.

Who do you think backed the Nazi coup in 2014? It was the Americans, and the fascists immediately began ethnic cleansing and started a civil war by attacking their own citizens.

Russia is intervening in this civil war started by fascists and imperialists to finally end it. You have a lot to learn about this conflict

Edit: you were the user a couple weeks ago who thought Ukraine was winning and Russia was on the verge of collapse lmao. This person knows nothing about the conflict except what CNN tells them

If we can acknowledge that the west is propagandised, then we gotta be able to question narratives like the one you just presented. I don’t know the specific event you’re speaking of, so I can’t go into that, but I’d recommend you watch this short video to get an idea of where most hexbear users are coming from. It’s not perfect, nothing ever is, but it does good at laying some groundwork. Its biggest issue is taking Bidens quote about nato expansion out of context, but I don’t find that damning, since it’s trying to illustrate NATO encroachment. Wether or not Biden recognised the issue with that or not isn’t super relevant when the danger is clear either way. The video would have worked just as well without his quote, it just helps make it relatable to american liberals.
