Some days I kinda wish I were this stupid. Life would be a lot simpler if it obeyed baby-brain lib logic

Need to get around to finishing Liberalism, but Losurdo has been a big influence on my worldview the past couple years. Reading his works is like a breath of fresh air. I hope Henry and Salvatore (or others!) can do some more translation work, because more people need to read his stuff.
roll tide roll
Alabama caught in the crossfire
Gonna see them for the second time next month!! So fucking hyped
ML and AI-type stuff is sick as hell, but the media hype-bullshit and stable diffusion stuff that people use for slop gives it all a bad name. I know people doing really cool research on different types of cancer and cleft palate data using ML approaches, to good effect. Stuff like that should be prioritized and publicized much more. It’s a tool like any other.
b from MoA has some pretty sharp analysis. They’ve been proven right on some predictions multiple times, since I’ve started reading
It is fully a system that gives people a sense of false agency, none of the initiatives that have not aligned with the interest of the powers that be have passed/impacted anything.
Similarly, a few years ago Florida voters pretty overwhelmingly voted a “ballot initiative” to give felons their right to vote back after time served. The state basically flipped them off and kept right on going. Same game, different players
If the religious YanKKKees had any self-awareness, they’d probably consider their country “Babylon” or the antichrist.
Having grown up around a lot of them, a common retort takes you into the “can’t fail, can only be failed” territory. “America isn’t horrible and evil at it’s ontological core, it’s just filled with ~insert minority here~ that’s doing awful things (i.e. existing) and THAT’S why this awful thing has come upon us”
let out an involuntary “oh hell yeah” Really hope this can help to ease some of the pressure from the US’s boot on their neck, and excited for the longer-term consequences this could have
Nine days later, he escalated the harassment, adding seal barks and the bleating of sheep.
The idea that adding different animal noises to the voicemails is “escalat[ing]” the harassment is killing me
Uncommon, sure, but definitely not unprecedented these days. Hurricane Michael destroyed the gulf coast back in 2018, category 5
Yeah, I think it has to be that. Just sucks that people who cared so much get overwhelmed to the point of giving up.
The wildest to me is how far some people have swung back.
The person who, back in 2021/22, would walk out of their way in the hallway to keep 6 feet of distance between us, who has two kids at home both younger than 3, doesn’t take any precautions anymore. Or the guy who wore aura respirators before anyone else and did everything on zoom until 2023, I never see wearing a mask anymore. Or people I organize with who actively refuse to wear a mask, even at actions. It’s just so strange.
Man, I’ve definitely noticed I’m a lot more tired these days. As far as I know I’ve only had it once, so who knows, but it definitely makes me wonder.
This plus @Wertheimer@hexbear.net’s comment above is a crazy shot+chaser

Unfortunately it looks like the second article is a compilation of listener submissions. BUT I would imagine the project was driven by the hosts’ personal lives.
