Depends on the person really. I’ve been a sailor all my life, and the only times I’ve bought games was when I bought some physical disc games for my ps4, so it really depends on the person.
This is outdated. They have fixed it already, though I’m not sure if it has only been fixed in beta or it is now available in the latest release too.
I don’t play a lot of native games but I quite like 0ad. The only issue I’ve had is I couldn’t quite get into it. I like the idea of it, but it feels a bit too overwhelming, and isn’t exactly my type of game in practice. I quite enjoyed Sauerbraten, though I don’t play shooters that much anymore. The native game I’ve played the most has to be GNOME Mahjongg funnily enough. I also really like Minetest, but I haven’t been able to get into it.
Yes, it removes the spyware. You can call it telemetry if you want.
Just use chris titus’ debloat tool, and don’t bother with sus windows. Link: https://github.com/ChrisTitusTech/winutil
The main use for snaps comes from having controlled updates for packages that can’t be isolated, like the kermel, but surely it would be better to keep such packages as native debs. Personally, I can’t see an advantage for it. In theory, it’s a universal package format, but who cares that it works everywhere when nobody uses it because of the issues it has. And I definitely agree that Docker is better for enterprise server stuff.
It’s actually vwry convenient for developers on ghe server and enterprise side of things, and that’s why they push it so much. The problem is it sucks for users, and it sucks for server admins, last I heard. Even though the slow startup times are not an issue on the servers.
LibreOffice works perfectly for me, and Ofice Online fills any void, but sometimes you just need native Office. It’s a matter of “Is it possible” more than anything else? Just for fun
Wjat about, for example, M$ office? Apparently it could work for older versions, but I really don’t want to pay for it or pirate it.
I was researching that earlier today. While I don’t play Roblox anymore, I would be glad to know I can hop on it if I want to.
With (350GB + 700GB) just over 1 TB of free space between 2 disks, I struggle to see why you would need more, even if you start downloading a bunch of games.
Not just Unknown. How many privacy concious Linux users are there? I bet many of them would prefer to blend in with the crowd and use Windows as their user agent.
Yay! Or more like Yarrr! That’s amazing
Is the megathread being carried over too?
It means Windows is switching to a subscription model. It could be a good thing for some Linux users, if they need Windows for specific applications and don’t want to spin up a VM. O can’t see a reason for using it beyond that, other than being forced to, because Microsoft kills off yoir local Windows and turns your computer for a bootloader for a cloud system, which is itself a bootloader for your browser, for most people. What a terrible world we live in. Zero privacy guaranteed, a subscription model making Windows more profitable (again).
ALSO, good luck stripping down Windows, removing bloatware, ads and telemetry. I GUARANTEE you it will be impossible to remove ads and telemetry on Windows in the Cloud. And thus that crap will be FORCED on you!
Hi. I wanted to take either Amnesia or Meeple Station and none of them worked. I think they’ve all been taken.
But they still collect your data, so not that straight forward.
As a fellow teenager and a FOSS enthusiast, Linux user and Linux tinkerer and hobbyist, I’m glad to see there are more people my age getting into the FOSS space.
It’s decent, but the right way is this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YbxAmRnAGUo
