DIY EV kits are a thing, but a quick google shows some wildly varying prices. Probably depends on exactly what kind of car you are trying to refit and the performance you’re looking for.

What’s your relationship to this guy? If he’s a close friend or partner, then sure, have a conversation with him about needing to spread his wings a little bit.
Of course not everyone. Just the people without the resources to set up corporations to “loan” 0% interest capital to their children!
Lol I knew that didn’t sound right but couldn’t figure out why. Thanks!
Do what you have to. At the end of the day nothing is coming with you to the other side.
That being said, CS is remarkably flexible to accommodating a naturist lifestyle. Try it out in bits and pieces before you settle on the wild life. It’s not one or the other, people can and do get both.
Listen to experts. Stay off of social media. Get used to visualizing the average commenter on anything as a middle schooler. Talk to your friends about important topics. Learn how to vet sources. Challenge your beliefs. Recognize what cognitive dissonance feels like to you and seek it out. Focus on things that matter to your life. Read all the way through articles.
At least for me, its a threshold problem. The internet means that staying at home is always going to be at least somewhat interesting, which makes it a lot harder to take a gamble on a random late night outing. It’s not just staying out late, either—Gen Z shows declines in a whole host of risky behaviors. Smoking, alcohol, drug use, teen pregnancy, are all way down in our generation. In some sense, we’ve found a drug that we prefer to actual drugs.
I did this but the power never went out. I don’t drink bottled water, but my freezer is full of them now now. Do I just defrost them all in a big pot or something?
But what about the comic?! The comic says I don’t have to change my lifestyle to align with my purported values! It absolves me of my responsibility to do anything beyond complain, no matter how trivial the change required! Doesn’t the comic say complaining about a problem is basically just as good as actually contributing to fixing it?
Good question! Because neurons differ widely in location and function throughout your body, there are a number of possible outcomes depending on what exactly you mean by “all”. I’ve listed a few of those outcomes below!
Every neuron in your entire body: you die.
Every neuron in your body under conscious control: you die.
Every neuron in your Central Nervous System(brain and spinal cord): you die.
Every neuron in your brain: you die.
Every neuron in your brain that’s not in your hindbrain: you still die, but slightly slower and more agonizing.
Every neuron in your cerebrum: you die, but going from seconds to minutes here is progress!
Every neuron in your frontal lobe: you might conceivably survive this, albeit with severe personality changes and massive cognitive declines. Then again, it’s almost certainly going to trigger a massive seizure. In which case you just die.
Nope, the placebo effect can have physical effects and be genuinely curative. The level to which this is the case is highly variable from patient to patient, but it is inaccurate to say that is limited to improving sensation and perception of illness. Not to mention, in many cases the malady being treated is one of perception, for example, in pain management. And alleviating pain in itself has downstream positive effects on disease progression and patient QOL.
Ask your questions here! The lemmy archives aren’t as deep as Reddit’s yet, but one by one well get there!
Admittedly this isn’t anywhere near my field of expertise, but I do have some background in computer-aided drug design. Supercomputers are incredible tools, but they’re no slam dunk. Lots of candidates they propose don’t pan out in testing.
Agreed, I want to believe so bad, but the Meisner effect is so easy to fake with cameras that even video proof doesn’t cut it for me. I guess at this point it’ll take a preprint from a National Lab . Thankfully that won’t take long apparently given how easy this is to synthesize.
Holy fucking shit
Edit: Article was disappointing, unfortunately. A roundup of preliminary analyses, including a supercomputer simulation, a Russian amateur claiming to have synthesized it, and a Chinese lab confirming the study. Given the fact that others are having difficulty replicating this, and the other drama surrounding the discovery I’m going to need better proof than this before getting really excited.
Credibledefense was the original,“credible” was meant to emphasize that they expected well sourced comments and posts. Then people wanted a space for shit posting so they made a partner sub named non-credible defense.
Noncredibledefense is neoliberal military themed shitposting, credibledefense is a subreddit for defense hobbyists. The former is hit or miss, mostly based on your politics, I do try my best to keep the latter pretty focused on the facts.
!ukraine@sopuli.xyz is the most active. I’ve been trying to get !credibledefense@sh.itjust.works off the ground, but there’s a pretty critical shortage of contributors. Would love if you stopped by!
Like I said to the other person, don’t hesitate to use it just because someone else has done it first. As the quote goes: “Good writers borrow, great writers steal”.
Urim has been Israeli since the country came into existence, so I’m not really sure what you’re talking about. Unless your position is that all of Israel is occupied territory, in which case I invite you to take a look at what Palestinians did the moment they gained power over Jewish civilians and imagine that scene repeated across Jerusalem and Tel Aviv.
