I went back to school for engineering in my late 20s. I took physics and calculus again because I needed it to be confident in pursuing the rest of the courses.

I don’t know how to comment when I see this. I want to talk about how this works, but most people know how this works. So I don’t know why its a thing. Its funny though.

I just got out of a water conference. The big takeaway was for me was that where sewer spills happened, tomatoes grow later.

It’s not sci-fi but Kingkiller Cronicles is some of the first fantasy I tried and it was excellent. It gets sciency enough to keep me interested. Ideas from chemistry, thermodynamics, physics are prominent in this magical world. But the reason I recommended this series is because it is well written, exceptionally engaging, and the reader is awesome once you get used to his voice.

For scifi I recommend Three Body Problem (lots of cool ideas based in physics and an excellent story) or Expeditionary Force (Lots of AI/programming humor and space travel scenarios).

How are books 4-6? I absolutely loved the first three.

I have way more fun on Lemmy. I do need some of the more esoteric an vast archived content from reddit from time to time. For that I just google reddit and no longer sign in. Fedi will get there soon enough though.

How about the phone? No body washes their phone after pooping.

I think it is great here on Lemmy but tbh, the content is limited. My enjoyment here is partly watching it develop. Im like 1 week in and I can see it growing day by day. I don’t think that is what most eventual users want to experience. They want it all set up with the party in full swing.
