That is clear and concise, but still kinda has the whiff of “scary tech speak” about it. I guess it’s the same thing that makes some people freeze up when they see any math problem, and just assume it isn’t something they can handle. 😃

For all their many, many flaws, Microsoft’s style guidelines are pretty good for this sort of thing. E.g. they recommend replacing “Invalid ID” with “You need an ID that looks like this: someone@example.com”.

ETA: Maybe even just, “You need to enter the carrier credentials”?

For instance, Toad is referred to as Kinopio (I assume the wordplay is “Pinokio” – Pinocchio – with the syllables rearranged to be a play on “kinoko” which means mushroom?) while Bowser is literally called Kuppa (“Koopa”) (basically the same shit with Pokemon, since Satoshi is renamed as Ash Ketchum in the American version, like why?

…like they just say “Zelda” by name when in JP they refer to her as Hime-sama (“Princess”, but super respectful, kinda has “Your Highness” vibes I guess) from dialog.

I’m thinking about it more and more, but mostly because of Google and others becoming so intrusive, I hadn’t even considered that it might be good for performance.

I sadly fell for the big Pixel 10 hype campaign (from Android Authority and others) and switched from Samsung. My phone is so fucking slow and hot all the time, and sometimes needs charging twice a day. 💀 My bf and I went on a trip; he drove and we used my phone for Android Auto. Wired Android Auto, and I still had to hold my phone in front of the air con vent the entire time to stop the music skipping.

Thinking I might get an Oppo Find X9 Pro in a couple months. It’s not even that much more expensive than a Pixel (in fact they’re both on sale for £899 at the moment), but it seems like it might actually last me a few years.

That, and constant bullshit “advice” like
