Because the voters aren’t holding their elected officials accountable. People should be following bills like this and voting against politicians that don’t support it. Then holding the ones that said they support it accountable if they don’t follow through (after fully understanding why they didn’t/couldn’t).
People on here call this pandering. Good. Saying that they will do things that benefit society is a good thing. Maybe the problem is with the party that campaigns and the people who give them votes on a platform of hurting society.
They would be struggling a whole lot less if Putin wasn’t actively ripping the USA apart from the inside.
The problem is that our society not only failed to punish, but actively rewarded someone who committed atrocities on par with world history’s worst people. The problem is that it still does, which encourages more people like him to do more things like he did.
It’s insane that people would vote for someone who is too cowardly to even answer softball questions from his own propaganda network on a stage of suck-ups.
It only happens when there is a republican house and a democratic president.
For republicans, it’s win-win. Either they get what they want, or they get to blame the democrat president for the damage they cause.
A lot of people don’t understand how hard it is to fix things with a hostile Supreme Court and an obstructive congress. To the people saying “both sides are the same because Biden has only managed to clean up a few of Trump’s messes”, how would you do it instead? Biden has decades of experience, and he’s trying. Do you honestly believe someone else could do better?
"When looked at in historical context, what stands out isn’t that polling in 2016 was unusually poor, but that polling of the 2004, 2008 and 2012 presidential races was uncannily good — in a way that may have given people false expectations about how accurate polling has been all along.
The other factor is that the error was more consequential in 2016 than it was in past years, since Trump narrowly won a lot of states where Clinton was narrowly ahead in the polls."

And the Dems better make sure the voters know about it instead of just focusing exclusively on the abortion issue over and over.
Here is a 2 minute video about being able to hold the idea that Hamas and Israel are both in the wrong and civilians are getting hurt on both sides as a result.
We should end the legal institution of marriage. It literally only provides two benefits: you can pool income for tax purposes, and you can share health insurance. Both of those items could easily be addressed without marriage, especially if we had universal healthcare or if you could add a partner to your health insurance like you can with car insurance.
Meanwhile, marriage in it’s current form means that the state decides how much of your retirement savings you get to keep when your partner decides to leave you or you decide to leave your partner. It’s the worst financial decision that it is possible to make to ever marry someone outside of your class because of that risk, and that risk sucks the joy and romance out of the whole thing.
If you want to have a fairy tale wedding or an important religious ceremony, go for it, but there is zero reason to get the government involved at all anymore.
Me pushing the “fast forward 30 seconds button on my VCR remote 3 times” and not watching TV live.
I saw an ad for an artist I like having a concert nearby at the top of my homepage. Relevant, but still an ad as a premium subscriber. I see ads when artists release a new album too sometimes, but they usually tend to be pretty good. Smart Shuffle could become ads in music form since I’ll bet they were paid to put at least some of those specific songs there. It’s annoying that smart shuffle isn’t a separate button from normal shuffle too. They also raised their prices a bit.
It’s really not bad yet, but all of these recent changes combined is a sign that enshitification is coming. But it does seem like they are being careful about it and not destroying the core of their product for momentary greed.
So a half vote for the party that wants them banned. Smart.
Mines $20 and also has fried chicken, a bunch of sides, and salad. It’s not the best buffet in town but it’s pretty ok. Also when you are allowed to request pizzas and then those are put out fresh.
That would be an interesting ploy. Conservative media could blame the democrat speaker while the republicans continue to block everything. But would the democrats even bother running someone knowing that is how it would play out?
It’s like if you bought something with a credit card and are now deciding to just not pay the bill. There was a separate budget process, and that’s when they should have said that they didn’t want to pay for the things they bought.
But really the whole thing is an excuse to hold the country hostage every few months whenever republicans control the house and not the presidency. It’s win-win for them because either they get what they want from the hostage negotiation, or they hurt the hostage (us) and blame it on the president.
What should he be doing that doesn’t exceed the powers granted to the President by the constitution?
