Effectively, the other option is passwords, and people are really, really, bad at passwords. Password managers help, but then you just need to compromise the password manager. Strong SSO, backed by hardware, at least makes the attack need to be either physical, or running on a hardware approved by the company. When you mix that with strong execution protections, an EDR, and general policy enforcement and compliance checking, you get protection that beats the pants off 30 different passwords to 30 different sites, or more realistically, 3 passwords to 30 different sites.
The modern direction is actually going the other way. Tying identity to hardware, preventing access on unapproved or uncompliant hardware. It has the advantage of allowing biometrics or things like simple pins. In an ideal world, SSO would ensure that every single account, across the many vendors, have these protections, although we are far from a perfect world.
On the one side, this man is accused of murdering 30 people. On the other side, he’s been called a lover of puppies. Let’s meet in the middle and say he’s a bad driver.
On Steamdeck, I haven’t tried multiple controllers, but with one, it has been rather seamless for both the PS5 and the Stadia controller. They are both Bluetooth, and when I turn them on they just work. That said, the original SteamDeck(which is what I have) doesn’t support CEC or Bluetooth waking, so the Switch wins out on automatically turning on and switching my TV’s input. The OLED SteamDeck is supposed to fix that, but I’m not paying for a replacement until this one dies or a SteamDeck 2 comes along.
I could train as hard as possible, for years, and I promise you I couldn’t beat a single woman in the WNBA on a 1 on 1 game. I think it is important to remember, that yes, statically, men have an advantage, but each individual is unique. I think it would make more sense 1. Remove the profit motive from sports. 2. Have leagues based on skill, not gender. Of course, that will never happen. Match making in video games is a clear example of how it can work. If I was really into any competitive game, every time I played I’d be playing against people that were roughly equal to me. I suppose that is harder to do in team sports though, especially when there is money involved for the players.
I’m guessing you were making a joke, but the real answer is it is a Godot tile map.
Thanks. It was a silly toy, but it scratched an itch, and was good for at least one chuckle.
Here’s a little game I made because I missed it too. https://dbeta.com/games/webdefragger/
I don’t want to let nations off the hook for being bastards, but the technical incomlktence of both our core infrastructure and the tools that support them is also astounding.
I agree. The hardware was out of date before it was released. The controls were poorly placed to make the joycon gimmick work. It was designed for little kids hands and didn’t offer a solution for adults. The steamdeck really highlighted all these problems by doing it better day one. But for the target demo of the switch, very little of that mattered, and it was a great success. I just hope the Switch 2 learns from these mistakes and doesn’t repeat them.
If you have a notable amount in savings, investing it in some way is generally a good idea, but I agree with not trusting your bank to steer you right.
To clarify, when it cones time to voke, you can vote for whoever you want, but primaries are how the parties pick who they get behind. Generally it isn’t allowed to vote in the primary for more than one party, or some people would vote in all primaries, helping put their candidate into multiple parties, or tanking a party by poisoning their ballot.
Except for copiers that can do binding.
This is Wordpad, not Notepad. There is still a perfectly functional plain text editor(until they decide to slam ads into it) for Windows. WordPad was a rich text editor. Sublime and Notepad++ don’t really compete with that. LibreOffice and OnlyOffice exist for free in that space, but you are right that non-tech savvy users will struggle to find them on Windows.
I always felt that was down to screen size more than resolution.
Of all the things I would upgrade on the deck, resolution isn’t one of them. I have never seen a game look blury on that tiny screen. That said, a lot of them are using higher res panels probably because it is what they can find in bulk.
I’ve been playing Soulstone Survivors. I kida forgot it existed and was searching the Steam Store for a Vampire Survivor like and was reminded I own it.Itt is clear that the makers were in the middle of making a ARPG rougelike when VS came out, and they successfully made the change. As a result, it has well fleshed out systems across the board.
I’ve experience it a few times in VR. For a few fleeting seconds, my world is the world being projected onto my eyes. It rarely lasts long, but it is mind bending.
