The zeitgeist with DND druids has always bored me. I play them exclusively evil, as I am finding out just as I think about it now.

There is a middle finger of vecna druid archetype that allows for unique shapeshifts into an abomination. It’s a lot of fun to play and the shapeshift options are very versatile and adjustable each shift. I role played a LE human who sook out expediting the heat death of the universe for the Eldritch pantheon. I joined the party as they were already doing a good job leading to the destruction of society. It was all for the purity of nature, of course.

Another I played was a spore druid who was basically Shaggy from Scooby Doo, but evil. The archetype I used was absolutely awful but it came with lots of good stories as I got incredibly high irl to play the character. I conspired with the DM against the party for the glory of Strahd for an entire year of play, and then abandoned the vampire lord when the party started winning the final fight. Convincing the party irl (who was none the wiser but absolutely hated my character) that Strahd was just trying to get in their heads to split the party will probably be my favorite memory of DND for all time.

I always understood it otherwise, that progressive was more to the left, outside that neoliberal democrat stance. But these things change over time and I may have always just misunderstood.

Progressive is often used as a blanket term that basically means that you are farther left than the Democratic party. Not that he doesn’t like progress, just that he is not pursuing the end of capitalism or something in that direction if even slightly.

I suggest memes as in the Richard Dawkins original definition, not funny haha memes but shared reproducible culture. We are social creatures, more than any other, and our social development has happened far more quickly than typical evolution ever could.

Quite a bit of human development has been in the category of nurture, as opposed to nature. While humans have changed little biologically, I have an “appendage” in my hand that can communicate with an individual in space. Memes replicate and evolve much more quickly than genes do.

That’s a good question, and probably not. I figure growth won’t increase the proportion of quality comments, but it will undoubtedly increase the frequency. Hopefully the voting system will cause low quality comments to drift away from what we tend to see.

Something I take away from forums is that user volume is incredibly impactful, even if most is low quality. As long as there is something to scrape off the top, I think I’ll be satisfied. Obviously this misses some nuance but I think it works as a rule of thumb, especially to grow incredibly small niche communities that otherwise won’t exist.
