Right…the problem is the very troubled young man, not the fact that he had easy access to firearms.

Garland is trash. Sat on his hands for over 2 years before being forced into prosecuting Trump, but too little too late and now nothing will come of it. Again has a chance to restore some justice in this nation by taking on the obviously corrupt Supreme Court, and again chooses to do nothing.
Biden could replace him, but for some reason keeps calling him John Mitchell and then just trails off staring at the floor…
Small correction: after numerous recounts, it was proven decidedly that Gore had won in FL. However, the corrupt Supreme Court decided that since the media (Fox News) had already called the election for Dubya, that it would pose too much risk to our democratic process to overturn the results to the correct outcome.
This is most amusing given the context of Jan 6 and the corrupt court’s opinions on that matter, but here we are.
A travesty then, considering polling consistently shows progressives would wallop Trump, and the Dems claim that democracy is on the line this election. We could do so much better, but absolutely will not at the peril of capital.
Dems have been chasing them to the bottom of the barrel for some time now.
Yes, top cop Kamala. And now they’re threatening to roll with her if Biden has to step down. We’re doomed.
This is 100% correct.
Small thing to add - we’re also in the midst of a devastating heat wave across most of the US at this moment. Taking to the streets isn’t exactly an accessible option right now, but anyone who has been remotely engaged in online discourse should be well aware of voters’ discontent with Biden and the status quo. They certainly won’t be discussing it on MSNBC however.
Lots of people are saying it. Smart people ;]
Do you honestly think Biden is fully aware of and capable of using his newly decided powers? I don’t.
Hell, would you trust Biden to drive your car home for you after it gets dark outside?
Hmm…I wasn’t aware of the stipulations surrounding Nevada, that’s actually a bit worrisome. Thanks for pointing this out, will need to read up on it more. I honestly think GA is a lost cause this year for the Dems but we shall see.
Keen for the possibility you laid out for 3rd parties to get a foothold, hoping to see that exact scenario unfold! There are many who feel reforming the Dems is the only way towards the Left, but the party seems like such a lost cause. If only a populist 3rd party candidate could get just a small foothold, I could see voters backing them in monumental droves within just 1 election cycle. Ah, the dream.
The gaslighting is really pervasive, and most troubling. This is not the way to combat the fascists with their “alternative facts.”
Biden built his career on being a Republican basically - he was known as the Senator of “bipartisan compromise” who would always rush to give republicans whatever they wanted. Putting heads in the sand and pretending that we have to roll with Republican-lite to defeat a fascist uprising just seems incredibly foolish to me. Or pretending that Biden is even sound of mind anymore, for that matter. People don’t seem willing to have an honest conversation about anything anymore. Very unhealthy democracy right now.
The only state which was a risk was Ohio, which already amended its rule for this year to allow the selection after the dem convention. There is no legal problem here, the dems simply need to choose a new candidate at their convention.
It’s only about 20-30% who want the orange king imo.
2/3 of the country is actually progressive - if only we had someone for whom to vote.
What are you on about?
Biden is expected to show up and make his case, which he appears unable to do. His administration also actively worked to subvert the primary process, a wholly undemocratic maneuver.
And now here we have Blue MAGA - blaming the primary contenders who were brave enough to run, blaming the voters, blaming anything and everyone possible except the one man whose ego will cost us the election in November unless he steps down now.
There was no primary in good faith, Biden didn’t even entertain a debate with those running. His admin colluded with state DNC boards to cancel primaries in some states, and remove contenders from the ballot in others. Establishment Dems bullied and threatened major contenders behind the scenes to prevent them from even attempting to run. In light of recent events it’s quite obvious why.
So to me this isn’t a valid argument for Biden’s legitimacy, quite the opposite in fact. And quite ironic in an election where “democracy is on the line.”
I honestly don’t think Trump gives a shit about Biden. The Obamas on the other hand…
No, the problem is democrats refusing to run a real populist against a fake populist like Trump. Instead we get the same establishment garbage, which is exactly what the Trump campaign is geared towards defeating. Schiff is also incorrect - Kamala would be just as bad in this regard.
If Dems run a real populist who is a champion of the people, not the corporations, Trump would be exposed and the whole MAGA movement would fall apart at the seams.
You seem to be missing the most important point here - with cognitive decline from advanced age, time is not on your side. Biden would likely be worse in a future debate, if he doesn’t do the right thing and step down immediately.
Every voting person would know within a week if Biden stepped down and gave 1/4th the support to the new candidate what he gives to Israel’s far right wing government.
Statement dreamed up by the utterly deranged.
Biden should have dropped out in ‘23 and allowed for a real primary contest. Instead he and his neoliberal ilk shouted down anyone talking sense, and now his ego will cost America everything. Congrats Joe, you’ll go down in history after all.
