Lately I’ve been partial to Yeats similar quote :
The best lack all conviction, while the worst are full of passionate intensity.
Just a geek, finding my way in the fediverse.

“guten tight”
“Tighten until you hear the crack, then back a quarter turn”
https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Aluminum_can
The inside of the can is lined by spray coating an epoxy lacquer or polymer to protect the aluminum from being corroded by acidic contents such as carbonated beverages and imparting a metallic taste to the beverage
Guess it depends on your definition of “plastic” and if someone would colloquially refer to an epoxy lining as plastic. Not here to debate word meanings but there is definitely a liner inside aluminum cans.
I can confirm two in use simultaneously and a total of three connected (2 xbone, 1 PS5) but we were playing a two player only game. I would assume that if the game supports it, the deck would too.
… But that’s an assumption :)
EDIT: to clarify - the wireless connectivity support is from the deck, not the dock.
Really? I’ll have to look into migrating from AWS. Thanks for the tip!
Subtle dig at Hubble, I like it
I mean… Expiration dates are mostly a lie anyway. Just do the sniff test, probably fine.
But, on topic, I do appreciate the post since that’s weird.
My 2017 Honda Civic doesn’t have a touch screen but I did specifically have to get the “lower end” LX model. All the EX models I looked at were touch control.
Paying less money to ensure I don’t get garbage I hate? Don’t threaten me with a good time.
EDIT: I enjoy how I managed to accidentally format the “not arguing” bit in huge font so I’m screaming at you for some reason… Sorry
Currently migrating a massive monolithic Java application to microservices… The circle of life continues.
Want to just swap jobs in ~5 years to keep the cycle going? You can migrate this project back to a Java monolith and I’ll migrate your monolith back to micros :D
I like to call myself a codemonkey
Did you know you can just make up an award? No one can stop you.
I hereby bestow upon you the “Champion of Lemmy for 2024-02-28” award.
Congrats!
Same. I was so (oddly) proud of my streak. Then my spouse brought it home from a meeting with friends : P
The sites shouldn’t have to maintain that but browsers should?
Also, some browsers are open source.
There’s so many problems with this idea that I don’t know where to start. But, I do see where you’re coming from.

I’m sure it might help for cold contacts (HR first look?) and things like that, especially without a strong background/CV. But in my limited experience nobody cares if you’re good and good to work with.
I say “limited experience” because I’ve stayed at my last few jobs between 5 and 17 years each. So I’ve not really been switching that often and therefore usually not actively seeking new positions.
Its a neat field to get into if you’re okay with never being comfortable in a public space again!
One step ahead of you my friend! Now, to start on my career transition…
“you’re really good at this and enjoy it so let’s get you into middle management where you won’t do it anymore and will hate your life”
Yep.
but now you have a field that randomly explodes
That’s not a sentence I expected to read today.
Alcohol here. The word you’re looking for is “heroin”
This guy has a radio show that I found while searching for a station in the rural south. It is oddly fascinating (and enraging) to listen to on long drives.
The people calling in are especially… Enlightening? It’s particularly interesting how many easily disprovable outright falsehoods that people fervently believe and want to call in to talk about.
