I had this happen to me last year (kidney stone). Holy shitballs on crutches. It was the most pain I have ever been in. And I have had all sorts of injuries and surgeries. This topped it all by far far far. I actually passed out from the pain. I was in the ER with pain managing medication for about 6 hours and then 1 minutes to the next gone. Not like oh it’s receding… Gone like it was never there. And I felt 100% fine after. I felt embarrassed because I still had a bunch of doctors looking out for me and I was fine.

Oh and if you are a human with balls, the pain also radiates to this zone and it feels like someone is kicking you in the balls repeatedly with no rest between kicks. It suuuuucks.

And before you say ‘feels like labor’ naaaah I talked to several moms who have had many kids and they also agree. This is waaay worse.

  • I don’t believe this is a US problem. Dates do match with all the Trump nonsense but it happened pretty much worldwide. Look at UK, Australia, Philippines, Brazil, Mexico. All of them had the same divide in society with politics at the center. I think it’s social media and the attention-hungry algorithms that do not care about the side effects. That is what is pulling people apart. Spending hours a day in an indoctrination environment just because ‘clicks and ads and $$’. Laws to prevent this are waaaay too late. Damage is done. And what horrible damage these things did… What horrible damage these people did… And are still doing unchecked.

  • I see all of these actions by the government to address and reverse the population decline but they seem so insignificant and half assed.

This is a very serious issue for a society and it has the potential to get worse in a geometric decline fashion, making it very time sensitive.

Actions that may help today will be useless on the near future… I think governments are not giving this issue the seriousness it deserves and are acting way too slow. By the time they realize this it may too late. They may be obligated to do some very uncomfortable containment actions.

  • I guess this is going to be like when flights get oversold. They will start offering $. But then as the flight nears take off they offer $$$ then a few minutes before $$$$$$ +free flight + dinner + hotel +…

It may be too late by then. Declining population problems are not lineal but geometric in growth (or decline) so increasing incentives later on, even if effective may be too late to stop the decline. This is a much more serious issue than most people believe. And it is also quite time sensitive.

  • Has anyone in their 30s 40s 50s had a sudden change of perception of our own mortality? I found myself thinking a lot about it recently (no significant events around me). I just find life so ephemeral now as compared to how I used to see life so grand and long it might as well have been infinite. Not anymore. I guess it’s part of growing old. Anyone else feel similar?
