i have learned something as well. it’s a word that’s familiar to me in clinical context, i had not really thought about it as something linguists and creative language-smiths are thinking about until looking it up just now. 🙂

baby doesn’t have clear words yet, but he has body language and gesture, eye contact, prosody, shared attention, the give and take pacing of interaction. baby has picked up a good deal about how casual, comfortable conversation with the guys or a close family member works!
but why? why paintbrushes?
the first doesn’t negate the second, it describes it. it is a ban which is anti-trans or transphobic. this is not a double negative!
also, this is why ciswomen will sometimes use the men’s restroom. long line, desperation, potentially exacerbated by the fact that birthing children sometimes makes it harder to wait afterward.
side note - i almost never clock anyone as trans. i figure most people don’t, or don’t correctly (i have heard of people challenging butch ciswomen). how would most folks even know?! just mind your business and do your business, and let others do the same.
then look at it this way - which of them is more likely to act on a stupid impulse, and is surrounded by incompetent, lying yes-men?
holy shit, that’s cool! i had not seen this style, thank you!
apparently western-wear is a thing in Japan. and honestly, they rock it better than we do!
dafuq kinda nonsense is this? lesse, a president who supports wiping out Palestinians is better for Palestinians because then they get more aid?
???
because i was 18, a freshman in college, and just got dumped. i was all down about it and a friend offered me one and i thought, fuck it, why not.
then i bummed another a few days later and so on. bought my own pack within a week.
my student loan repayments are currently $0 due to the SAVE repayment plan. the threat i currently face as a borrower in repayment comes from states suing the Biden admin in federal court to stop affordable repayment.
i see your propaganda. i hope others see it for what it is as well.
sorry, but the notion that fear of men pushes them to be predators is absolute bullshit. that’s an argument that’s an insult to anyone who has been victimized by a man and an insult to men as well.
i mean, a great many people don’t appreciate being told they are murderers. it provokes defensiveness rather than an openness to pro-vegan arguments.
… so let’s just speedrun it?
years ago, i lived in a community where someone had spray-painted the dumpster. it said something like “tear it all down and start over.” i endorsed that at the time.
now i am way too invested in way too many people to see it go down like that.
just because somebody typed this stuff and took a photo doesn’t mean that’s what they submitted.
disclaimer - i haven’t read the article/opinion. anyway, if someone said this to me, i think i would understand what is really being communicated, which is something like “i don’t trust men i don’t know, men i don’t know feel very unsafe to me.” i don’t think i would get hung up taking the statement literally. my thinking would be something like, “why do men seem so unsafe to you?” (knowing the answer is likely based in experience or observation of some kind), rather than “what kind of bear?”
i think there’s like a whole subculture around these shoes, no joke
edit - other people in thread explaining it better!
let’s just embrace the greater evil/demonstrable threat now then, shall we?
(/s)
well, that escalated quickly
