Second, survivable if he got immediate direct pressure and taken right to a trauma unit for blood and surgery. I haven’t seen footage of after the shot, but I’ve seen people immediately begin to bolt, as most people in the US hearing gun fire expect a mass shooting… that’s a lot different then when I was a young dumb medic years ago.
So if he got direct pressure and was dragged to a vehicle and right to an ER, survivable with probable deficits for the rest of his life.
I also note we’ve heard zero about a dead or captured gunman.
You saw less than a coke bottle of blood, I’ve seen much worse and seen people survive. The key is quickly stopping/slowing the bleeding, getting to blood products to replace the loss, getting to surgery to fix the hole.
The long wars in the middle east actually taught us a lot about fixing this kind of stuff.
