Now I’m convinced Musk really is a genius. To be capable of that kind of mental gymnastics he has to be.
There’s all sorts of inappropriate ways to use a toaster where the failure mode is fire. Making toast in bed, under the covers? Catch fire. In a puddle of gasoline? Catch fire. Seriously, WTC toasters?
Of course the danger is that this is cancelled out by increased carbon emissions from a making a commensurate amount of toast.

That amount of evil and bold has simply become the norm for corporations, so that seems a no-brainer, collusion is not needed.
And unfortunately beer won’t save us from the things most likely to make modern / near future water impotable. Except to the extent it makes us not care.
The problem is the less awful side’s awfulness is what lead to the growth of the scary-aweful side.
It’s not just that they let a few questionable ones slip through, it’s as is they were were positively selecting for scumbags. That’s not tone deafness, that’s flat out having contrary values.

You realize the world is full of people and organizations with many different opinions and interests, don’t you? It is impossible for anyone to do anything, or fail to do anything without people being unhappy and critical about it. The bigger and more powerful you are the louder that will be. There should be nothing surprising about this.

Where did you get the idea that the Julian calendar doesn’t have months? The Gregorian calendar we use now made a tiny tweak to it to reduce drift, but is nearly the same.
You both just have present your working or availability hours beforehand. Honestly this works better for me than someone assuming I’m available for an 8am meeting. I live on the US east coast, but my sleeping schedule is more west coast.
