Pretty sure it’s the University of Texas’ A&M university’s “hook 'em” sign.

I thought it is short for “I am putting myself down for that” or “put me down for that”. As in, putting yourself down on a list for attending an event.

Sucks that the one feature that would get me to use (Android auto) is locked behind a paywall.

I imagine tethering players to each other. Preventing them from straying too far from each other.
