this AI push is so fucking funny. my team has lost 3 people in the last few weeks and none of the positions are hiring replacements because the company is choosing to invest in AI instead, and middle management has finally gone from bemused enthusiasm to barely-restrained panic. watching these tech illiterate types suddenly start to sweat as they realise the reality of the situation (which we have all known for months) is great fun. our AI is useless, commands from on high have told management to change how we operate to pin all our hopes on it, and now the CEO is going to watch them drown in exchange for shareholder value

Yeah, this is really not normal. I grew up on a farm and when I heard about this on the news I kind of rolled my eyes - people can be freaked out by how you interact with horses because it can look a little rough, but they’re massive fucking animals with stone/metal fists and will kill you if you actually hurt them. Almost always, a horse is fine. And then I saw the footage.

This is really not the way to do things. What she’s doing is both excessive and incredibly unprofessional. Straight up amateur shit. In my village the tradition was that you don’t give a kid a whip until a) they’re 13 and b) they have proven that they can ride without it. You never need them if you know what you’re doing. Whips/crops are supposed to be used to surprise the animal and get their attention, not to hurt them. The type of whip she’s using in this video (a lunge whip) shouldn’t really even make contact with the horse, you use them to either make noise behind them or to shock them a little from the corner of their vision.

The insane part is that at one point, she’s hitting the horse from the front. That is something you never fucking do (partly because you’re increasing your chance of getting fucking killed lol)

Like, this is something that you might expect of someone who has never handled a horse before and is particularly mean. This would never be called for under literally any circumstances. To see this from someone who’s been riding their whole life and absolutely knows better? She was pissed off and actively taking her frustration out on that poor horse. I doubt she could really do much damage with a lunge whip, but she meant to hurt the horse.

theres a guy at my work who’s been incredibly helpful to me and has taken up all of the training that this bullshit company neglected to give me. he is lowkey the reason i still have a job. he has a bit of shaky grasp of the english language and i try to be patient with that and give him a hand, i don’t think the rest of the team really talks to him because of his hit-or-miss english. sometimes we’ll stay on a call even after work hours have ended to chat about football.

and then, a few days ago, he tells me whats going on in fr*nch politics. this then rapidly progessed into open racism. he complained about immigrants not integrating, and the whole “there are parts of paris that the police are afraid to go to. because of the woke.”, and how some socialist freaks don’t like isreal and are clashing with police (BASED), and how all arabs are violent; its just innate, its their culture. he, not speaking good english in an english language company, had the gall to bitch about immigrants not knowing french

he even tried to bond with me by being like “don’t you guys have the whole knife crime thing? because of the violent immegrants?” FUCK OFF CLAUDE, KNIFECRIME IS OUR NATIONAL FUCKING SPORT ALL ON OUR OWN
