This isn’t a too shabby of an idea. It probably won’t be used but a mix of stores and homes in one building sounds great.

Leaning on Google’s expertise in privacy and security
Lol. Google’s expertise on privacy. Yeah, they probably know really well how to circumnavigate all those pesky privacy rules.
Got my head straight to this short (sorry, it’s Youtube): hehe
I agree about the touchpads. Those work great. And most keys can be assigned to.buttons so without keyboard is okay, but some strategy games have a lot of shortcuts and those just work better with a keyboard.
Suspend and resume are indeed fantastic. There is no wait time before you can game.
Yeah, that last part about getting my gaming vibe going is something I recognize. I used to get a lot of joy out of gaming and could spend hours on it. Now it is feeling more and more like something I do just to pass time.
That was my move as well. I did do some upgrades on my PC along the way, but the base was still from 2009 (and I must say, it functioned surprisingly well). But a couple of months back I upgraded my PC as well. But the decline in play time on the Steam Deck was started before the upgrade.
I should probably use it more as you do. Plug it in on the TV and do some group gaming or just for myself, and keep it with me when traveling.
That sucks man. Nice to have the Steam Deck then. At least you have some form of entertainment.
It definitely is, and I really enjoyed it when I got it. But I do run into the limitations of the device. Those limitations are by design because I would like a bigger screen, but putting a 17" screen on a handheld doesn’t make it a handheld anymore. So my usecase might not fit with the device anymore. I do use it sometimes to play sports or casual games. But that’s about it.
Okay, treating this seriously. No: triple triple = 333 333 333. Triple triple triple = 333 333 333 333 333 333 333 333 333.
I had a task running which would scan all incoming calls on all SIM cards. It then checked the numbers for known contacts and if they are unknown it would check if they called multiple times. I made it because I was bothered by a lot of spam/scam callers. This task would block all notifications, vibrations and ringtones. So it didn’t bother me at all that they called.
Indeed. The front ends could be less or more “secure”/private. And by that I mean that I don’t know how the app themselves are with access and your data. So I don’t know if they collect and share any data and how reliable the developers are.
Indeed. Or otherwise Island as an alternative. Don’t know how those two compare on the security and privacy front.
You can put it in a work profile and trust that Android is protective enough to keep your data safe and access limited. Otherwise buy a second phone just to put WeChat on it. Don’t know how WeChat works, but if it’s like Whatsapp then you don’t need to bother with a secondary number.
This is something that happens in every war, but it’s difficult in this particular one since there is a very slim chance other countries will come to the rescue. So it’s all up to the Ukrainians themselves to cope with this thread/war.
Damn, moist. That’s damp.
I had the same thoughts as you before owning an EV. Now it’s just something I deal with. I rarely use fast charging, I mainly use destination charging (at home, at work, at the shopping center). When I do sit at a charging station, I just find myself doing all the stuff anyone does while waiting for something. I browse the internet, write a response on @Showerthoughts@lemmy.world, send some work emails. Mostly stuff I would do when I’m at home as well. I just enjoy the down time and time for myself.
I don’t see fast charging as a chore, it’s just something that you “undergo” just as you would while waiting at the doctor’s office. Is it enjoyable? Not always, but it’s never a pain either. Do I hate it? No.
In Europe and Finland there are a lot of undocumented immigrants. It’s in the news as well. This is news because it’s from Russia through a border which should be closed fully.
I do believe she feels raped, and I do feel the sexsomnia excuse is BS especially since other experts say that sexomnia exists only in papers used to defend rapists. There should’ve been a fair trial to determine if the rape indeed occured according to the rules of law (that does not mean she cannot feel violated if that’s ruled out though). But to say that you just blindly need to believe her, or the accused is a but too much for my taste.
I will probably not be liked for this opinion but I hope we don’t fall into the trap of always believing one or the other side without critical thinking. The victim deserves to be believed so that there will be an investigation and a court ruling and the accused deserves to be presumed innocent until proven otherwise. The judicialsystem is not flawless (see this example) and the negatives from those flaws have impact on both the accused and the victim. Only not always in the same amount or in the same time.
