Man, this must just be a right of passage for working as a SWE or MLE at this point. I’ve heard this pitch from coworkers/managers more than once.

Buddy, I’m not telling you it will work for you. I’m talking about on the whole we have scientific evidence to prove that it is effective. I’m literally only responding to your claim that “therapy is pseudoscience.” No need to get so defensive.
I still somewhat take issue with that characterization though. It doesn’t just “work for me and that’s okay,” it works period. It has been clinically shown to work for other people too. I only say this because spreading misinformation about it being “pseudoscience” and ineffective only serves to continue some people’s pain and never find an effective treatment for them, and I believe that’s potentially dangerous.
So, knowing this, what can we conclude from these graphs? It looks like posts and comments are going up but active users are going down. Does this mean that the posters are posting more individually? Enough to offset the drop in active users?
It’s mostly for things that don’t warrant a post but your friends might still think are interesting. I’m big on live music so it makes it easy for me to see a snippets of shows people go to or even to figure out if friends happen to be at the same show, but that’s just my personal example.
I have gone through some trauma therapy that has helped where no talk therapy has been able to. There are lots of studies showing the effectiveness too. Look up EMDR or brain spotting.
I really just have to push back on the “doing nothing at all” or “talking to a rubber duck” piece because I’d been trying that for years and trauma flashbacks don’t seem just go away on their own.
Comment history is looking like they are serious lol
This is irresponsible speculation, in my opinion. I have not heard any credible legal sources say that what he posted constitutes witness tampering, and judges have given him wide latitude in the past with regards to what he is allowed to say publicly because of his role as a public figure. It is far from a foregone conclusion that he “sentenced himself to minimum of 2 years” considering he has not even been charged with anything at all regarding that incident.
Thank you for providing an actual answer!
Are there any actual recent examples of this? Everything about lemmy is already completely open, so if they wanted to do anything, they would do it
What? He hasn’t been charged with sedition either.
I believe the dev said they used ionic in this instance
Still not sure what this is supposed to do based on the site? It’s some kind of all-in-one fediverse thing? Doesn’t help that they reference a ton of federated services that I’ve never heard of in the website
Always a momentous occasion when a father shows a son his first cone. I know I have fond memories of my first cone.
The judge is just saying that what he was found liable for could be construed as rape as the word is commonly used even if it’s not legally. Regardless of that, this article also makes the distinction that he is not convicted of anything due to it being a civil trial and not a criminal one. Saying he is a convicted rapist is still not correct.
This is absolutely not true… The death penalty is not on the table for any of the charges against Trump. The only charges in the US that carry the possibility of the death penalty are: murder, treason, genocide, or kidnapping of certain politicians. He has NOT be charged with anything near that.
Trump is a convicted rapist
This is factually inaccurate. I’ll agree he is likely a rapist, but he was never convicted of rape. He was found liable for sexual abuse in a civil trial, but he was explicitly found not liable for rape in the E. Jean Carroll case.
This is in no way a defense is Trump, but those words have a specific legal meaning, and I think there are a million other ways to call Trump that are actually accurate.
Where did he say it’s not an imminent threat? All he’s saying is that it’s not extinction level and the worst outcomes are not yet inevitable, which are both true statements. I do actually see a lot of climate apathy around and focusing on solutions and policy rather than doomerism seems like a good thing to me.

Wow this article is so much better. Thank you for linking!
