“The waters” is still a common way among Christian nerds to refer to the deluge, i.e. God’s most famous genocide. But only among the worst nerds.
So muddy it makes you think of dinosaurs.
I’m a good writer.
I know a Maoist “anti-imperialist” group that shows up “in solidarity” with US weapons contractor workers when they go on strike. They just show up and say, “unions are great” and then go home.
Israeli spokespeople were calling it antisemitic before anyone had heard of a manifesto. It’s a knee-jerk hasbara.
Hexbear lionization of adventurism isn’t allowed until we have sufficiently pathologically sexualized him.
they must run a new placebo-controlled trial after a variant arrives
The dominant variant shifts every 3-6 months.
This is entirely expected but I would guess that this kind of confirmation is valuable for pushing forward any bureaucracy that could respond.
Remember when “the adults in the room” actively denied that SARS-CoV-2 could be spread by aerosol and they were telling you to not buy masks and to instead disinfect your produce?
That’s good! And good to focus on union affiliation questions early. It will determine how much support you get during the campaign and some unions are so bad at this as to be counterproductive while others will send you a ride or die comrade.
Relationships with management often result in surprising “changes” when you try to unionize. Companies are top-down dictatorships. Except in extremely rare circumstances, the reaction will come from the top and filter down through management, who will need to choose between losing their job and engaging in union-busting: sharing information (perhaps naively) with their own “superiors”, stalling, helping build anti-agitprop, and eventually firing organizers. Smart companies will try to leverage personal relationships to undermine the campaign, “sure they fired KatySosa, but the guy who announced it is such a nice person and they said it was for performance reasons. That guy has us over for parties and I’ve met his kids! He wouldn’t do anything for a mean reason.”
You should go into any unionization campaign expecting to be fired and for your coworkers to need to strike / do walkouts for your resinstatement. Are your coworkers ready to do that? I don’t mean to discourage, the advice I’m giving is meant to increase your chance at success. You want to build up with structure tests and a committee before showing your hand or the compsny will just fire you and kill the campaign early through this intimidation.
I haven’t checked but if you’re the person who got active in part with PSL support I think it should be noted that they are not a known quantity in labor organizing. They might be more interested in radicalization than a successful campaign, e.g. suggesting agitprop before building a committee or a list (list building is always step 1! Always!). Or PSL mighy just be naive.
Build an organizing committee first. Use a small agitation that is not about unionization to figure out who you want for the OC.
Do not let management know you are trying to unionize until at least 3 people have your back.
I need to see Italians with deep (and silly) beliefs about authenticity react to this. I once worked with an Italian that got very angry about American pizza. Pizza with tomatoes didn’t even exist until nearly 1900 and wasn’t popular in Italy until it was already popular in the US.
Perfect your pasta soup recipe, comrade.
Sometimes what the world needs is guillotines.
The negative effects of this are the axe constantly held over those countries via US “aid”. All it takes is the stroke of a pen to starve large populations. Better not step out of line.
If there is any silver lining I hope that countries can become morr food sovereign from this. I hope that they will receive multipolar aid to bridge them to food sovereignty.
And then his son Guaidito will take his rightful place at the throne.
That’s awful. I hate roaches.
Since this is the room you sleep in, be careful about using sprays, borax, and diatomaceous earth there. All of those things are also bad for you if yoi breathe them in. So you would want to apply them, open a window, and leave thw room for a while. And diatomaceous earth creates dust that is not great for you, so set up an air filter and vacuum + reapply regularly if you use it.
If the entire unit starts doing something about the roaches, then you’ll want to make your place inhospitable and hard to get to for roaches. All food secured in glass or hard plastic. Water sources plugged up when not in use. Clean and vacuum every day. No crumbs! Treat the area by the refrigerator condenser (in the back) with roach killer. And seal up little cracks everywhere, especially under doors.
Hell yeah bicycles are great.
I definitely recommending getting a tune-up or, if you are a nerd like me, some basic tools to do it yourself. Make sure that thing is safe! Bicycle co-ops will often offer free or reduced cost tune-ups and have cool people to talk to.
What kind of saddle is it? Saddles are a personal preference thing but some are still better than others.
Aluminum cranks are really common and should be okay as a material. I would guess that that particular one is old and/or busted assuming it isn’t the pedal. Replacing a crank requires a special tool called a crank puller so you might be able to get this all done in one go going to a co-op. That would also be a good opportunity to see how the bottom brackey is doing because bottom brackets can be a nightmare to remove if you don’t have penetrating oil and a huge wrench in addition to the special tool for bottom brackets.
Hi! I’m at the cafe, thanks for meeting up with me to discuas the new round of funding. Look for me under the guy just jorkin’ it.
