No one - here - ever mentions - this - aspect
In all seriousness I actually see almost nobody being like “haha what a loser he had to sweep the streets”. I guess I just assumed everyone here knew his story already, it’s been posted probably half a dozen times or more over the years and is referenced regularly. But its such a good story I don’t mind seeing it crop up again. The anecdotes about him and his wife in this post actually made me tear up a little.
thanks for the translation/transcription, friend
yeahhhh. I wish I had a copy of that michael brooks show video now (at some point the next year or so they privated it, and now it appears to be fully deleted) because the quacks are very good at tailoring their message to the audience, it’s not just an ignorant right-winger phenomenon
It’s wild that this grift is still going. I almost went down that rabbithole at the beginning of the pandemic when the quacks pushing it got on some left-wing shows (even michael brooks… RIP) and there was limited evidence to go on, but then the evidence completely failed to appear, and everyone pushing it insisted it was a miracle drug for everything from cancer to covid and I felt foolish for ever giving it the benefit of the doubt
the propaganda blitz for really got to some people. I know several dems, even ones with socdem leanings, who fell for the schtick and like him, seemingly just for being young and gay and “smart” (and I guess not having as many obvious skeletons in his closet because he has no public history in politics outside of small town shit nobody cares about?)
like fuck, I’m begging these people to distrust the high echelons of the PMC a bit more but they just don’t get it. Its not just the politicians of the world that are the problem, its certainly not just the republicans and villain-of-the-week shitty right wing dems, it’s the whole damn system and all the people complicit in it. It’s a scale, sure, most middle managers aren’t ideological and some are even genuinely trying to do the right thing, I don’t much care about them, but conversely you also can’t ascribe virtue to people just for being successful in such a sick and broken society. And the same people who (subtly or overtly) look up to/idolize professionals like lawyers and doctors and business consultants and shit love mayo pete. They may also like AOC, but I don’t see them go to bat for her in the same way weirdly
yogthos has returned!
thanks for all the posts
