IT guys: tie cables together to keep things neat

God: “if a cable gets pinched it stops working or just sends random signals, also I routed some cables directly through moving parts so have fun not feeling one and a half fingers”

Last week I fell on the classic oxymethazoline dependence trap. Whole week breathing through my mouth.

woah just 40 minutes ago I posted about my stupid nose hairs. I agree, what the fuck is this?

I think I have some fucked up deviated septum shit or something because most of the time I only really get good air flow from one nostril

now I’m having like huge ass nose hairs just shooting everywhere (because the curse of being male is your nose hairs, nose cartilage, ear hairs and cartilage never stop growing, apparently, what is that)

same… i have to sleep on my left side or i will wake up feeling like im dying. If I lay on my right side my nose just plugs and I can’t breathe for shit. I had a surgery for it and it did basically nothing except cause me to lose weight because i couldn’t taste or smell for about 2 weeks and completely lost interest in food

oh cool so if i can ever get surgery it might not even help

that sucks though, I’m really sorry :/ I have to shift around in the night or else my back ends up hurting… like pressure builds up in weird spots on my spine until I get it just right. if I HAD to lay on my left side I would be so screwed so many nights when it ends up feeling painful

im sorry to hear that! it’s the worst not getting any good sleep. from what i understand that surgery is usually quite helpful… i knew a couple of guys that got it and it changed their lives which is why i did it too

it’s fine, I’m doing okay for now for the most part. I had long stretches where my ability to sleep was just so fucked. like I’d just lay there and just curse my existence and on a few occasions get up and go scream in frustration somewhere else, but it’s been much better after getting a new mattress, lmao

has a doctor ever explained to you why the surgery didn’t work in your case? like was it improperly done, and maybe something that could still be fixed? it seems really specific to have to sleep on one side, and like something that would still have an obvious underlying cause? idk

im glad to hear you’re doing alright. I’ve wondered whether one of those purple mattresses would be worth their cost. A couple people I worked with got one and they never shut up about how amazing it is.

For my surgery, I had the surgery when I had a job and shortly thereafter I did not have a job anymore, in part because I missed 4 days instead of the 3 days they allotted for my recovery. I had one meeting with the dr after the surgery about a week and a half afterward but it was too early for him to tell whether it would fix me, and to be honest he was WAY more concerned that I had no sense of taste and smell because that wasn’t supposed to happen. I’m sure he was shidding himself thinking I was going to sue, but my senses came back after about another week or so. Looking back though I’m sure he would’ve recommended another procedure but alas it wasn’t meant to be.

Pretty sure that’s just normal human physiology.

I’ve got that deviated septum shit. I hate it. Not sure if it is cocaine related.

I brutally pull all my nose hairs out with tweezers because I am a masochist

get a nose hair trimmer. I need a new one because my current one only works if I use my hand to jam the batteries in harder

I pull mine out with my fingers mostly, but will also bust out a tweezers for the hard to reach ones. I have no idea why they keep growing back when they are clearly not welcome
