I want to coin the term “Polandization” for the process in which decades of propaganda make countries in Eastern Europe invaded by Nazis and liberated by Soviets, hate communism and embrace fascism.
Since it was back from the dumpster of monarchic history somewhere in late XIX century, people using it were: nationalists, protofascists, cossacks, various pogromists bands, nazi collaborators, western puppets-in-exile, shocktherapist social murderers, neonazis. All those groups have first and foremost one thing in common: love for fascism and hate for communism.
Alright. Ukraine is full of fascists, the symbol is one used by fascists.
Ukraine has integrated Nazis into it’s military and civil service. It glorifies an SS collaborator by the name of Stephan Bandera. It has what is basically Hitler Jugend camps. It persecutes ethnic minorities and wishes to drive them out of Ukraine. It bombed two regions for 8 years (in breach of two treaties) because they had a russian-speaking minority. The Ukrainian military uses civilians as shields and cluster munitions. They have banned 11 opposition parties due to alleged ties to Russia luckily for Zelensky this means his major competition suddenly disappeared. He still decided to suspend elections due to the war despite this being illegal (elections can be suspended in states under martial law, but this is not the entirety of Ukraine) and even if it was legal, that doesn’t really validate the action.
The sign mounted on the shield is the insignia of a group of fascists.
These things aren’t mentioned to justify any geopolitical actions, but instead to point out how Ukraine is a fascist country.
There’s more, but I’m apprehensive of making any real effort due to a track record of people arguing against this in bad faith.
You’re welcome, thank you for asking a genuine question and responding now. I apologise for the antagonistic interaction you’re experiencing from many users (including myself) in this thread.
Fascism?
In my post-Soviet country?
It’s more likely than you think.

Yeah, the trident is a fascist symbol
Can you explain?

Fascism!
Are you asking genuinely or being obtuse for a weak attempt at a dunk?
It’s genuine.

Damn, I didn’t knew that. Thank you for the explanation.

Don’t worry, the antagonistic interactions that I get are somewhere else.
