    the motive remains unclear

I’m not sure how to articulate what I’m thinking about this. It’s very human to ask why? when something horrific happens, so I’m not blaming anyone for wondering what on earth the motive was. But at the same time, no attempt at an explanation is going to satisfy. There’s just no explanation for something like this.

It’s less about the victim and more about the prosecution. If it’s determined that he did it with forethought, etc. he may be charged with premeditated murder. If it’s determined that he got into some heated argument and proceeded to randomly stab people despite planning on going to the park otherwise, he may be charged with manslaughter. So on and so forth.

I can really only process these by assuming there’s some sort of latent fascism in the mind of the attacker, even if it’s only subconscious. A healthy society should not produce these kinds of people. The attacker must be subconsciously “culling the weak” or something. I don’t know, this is just mind bendingly horrible
