Google is threatening America's schools. They will turn off search if a school entirely blocks AI.

I know a school IT guy who has been struggling to block AI. The AI Mode button in Google results doesn’t turn off. I recommended looking for or developing a browser extension to just hide it with CSS or something.

just hide it with CSS or something.

Hiding the top glob is simple to do with CSS. For the drop down AI crap - a very simple Greasemonkey script could convert them to google search links.

There’s always yandex baby 😎. Great for getting weird conspiracy sites whenever you search for anything in English.

It’s legit the only search that isn’t completely memory holed on a bunch of shit and better at letting you find dead links which is something I often prefer over no meaningful results.

Love Yandex, no better search engine for finding mp3s since no one wants to seed music these days
