    I mean, everything can be expressed as triangles. Go talk to the graphics devs that build games and other visual media.

    And that’s what references are, really, genericized wireframes to layer on top of.

    Makes total sense you’d see more similarities than differences.

    I’m pretty sure the modern hourglass and inverted triangle art references look identical due to aesthetic homogenization triggered by Japan’s 1937 invasion of China and the fall of Nanking. This conflict dismantled traditional Asian art institutions. Post-war, rebuilt media industries adopted Western commercial ideals. Today, reference artists apply identical stylized curves (cinched waists and padded hips) to both figures, flattening the inverted triangle into the hourglass template.

    But I could be completely wrong, I dunno

    Well I’m not exactly sure, but whatever the reason, that might explain why I’m aroused by hourglasses…

          Welll, you can sign up for it, but you’ll be on a list.

          See, the upper end of chronophilias is gerontophilia, which is a sexual attraction to persons generally classed as elderly, senior, or whatever nice term you want to use for old.

          Then there’s a biiiiiig gap where it isn’t strange to be attracted to someone because you’re supposed to be attracted to adults in their sexual life span.

          However, when there is a unusual fixation, you have meso, then teleio philias, which are middle aged milfs and dilfs, and then regular old adults (ish, as the classification lacks a clearly defined objective set of characteristics the way the next ones do) respectively.

          That’s when we get into the stuff that icks people out. Ephebophilia, which is an attraction persons who have achieved adult or almost adult physical development, but would still be sub-adult in age, usually expressed as “mid to late teens” but is classified most accurately as an attraction to persons who have reached a set of development standards of 4 out of 5. It’s called the Tanner scale, and uses secondary sexual characteristics and other physical milestones to attempt to describe what the person looks like as opposed to how long they’ve been alive.

          Which does actually matter for anything other than casual, colloquial discussion.

          The next down is hebephilia, which applies to an attraction towards persons having met Tanner stage 2-3, which roughly correlates to young teens, and tweens. This is where just having the attraction is considered a disorder for most purposes, as that level of development is not sexually mature, so a sexual attraction would be aberrant.

          Which brings us to the catch-all term: pedophilia. Obviously, the term is used colloquially to reference sexual interest or attraction to anyone under the prevailing cultural norms of an acceptable age for sexual attention. However, more strictly, it applies to an attraction to persons that lack the signs of puberty, which is Tanner stage 1.

          What’s even more upsetting is that there’s still another category. Nepiophilia. And it is a sexual attraction to persons that would be no more physically developed than a toddler. Generally, it would be 2 or younger.

          So, I would say that, on average, wanting to fuck an hourglass is a-okay!
