The problem for Mr Lauro is that courtroom photographing and broadcasting are banned in federal court under the Federal Rules of Criminal Procedure.
He just wants to be able to say “look, they’re covering this up and lying!” They know it’s illegal
I’m guessing it’s that, along with a healthy dose of trying to delay things as long as he can, hoping he can win the next election and make all his legal problems go away.

I personally think it would be a good idea. Trump is obviously hoping to use that to rile up his former supporters, but I think it will just provide a layer of transparency to everyone that is much needed, especially in such an important case.
