Beyond illustration, Bougas directed cult documentaries including the “Death Scenes” series, hosted by Church of Satan founder Anton LaVey, and the 1993 profile “Speak of the Devil.”

Reminder that a ton of satanism unfortunately has nazi ties. If you’re interested in anything like that, please always do your due dilligence and check if somebody is involved with such a crowd.

Paganism too, nazi fucks are like herpes, they just spread to anything you like. Watch out for dog whistles, symbols, icons, weird little catchphrases they do, the way they dress.

If I’m not mistaken Pagans have a organization committed against hate coopting their religion, so that’s also a great resource too.

Yep, you can always tell where the Nazis have been because you see some niche groups stepping up to throw them out of the space. If you’ve ever been like “huh, why the hell is the Fraternal Order of Pumpkin Carvers putting out a statement condemning racism?” It’s cuz fuckin’ Nazi interlopers.

I used to be really into occult stuff and UFOs and shit and boy did that get a lot less fun when it kept leading to realizing how much of it was twisted up by literal Nazis.

There are several of these organizations, though I don’t think there’s a ton they can do besides police people under their umbrella and try to show that Nazis don’t totally monopolize Norse Paganism, etc., which is fair enough.

Yeah there’s unfortunately not much you can do once Nazis and other weirdos start trying to invade something like a hobby or religion. You can draw a clear line in the sand, but theres a bigger issue of people becoming radicalized and led into these groups that’s beyond the scope of this conversation.

There’s TST which isn’t really satanist, it’s a social and civil rights organization that uses the trappings of Spooky Scary Satanism to fight Christian overreach.

I think actual LaVeyan nuts are vanishingly rare, most people who claim to be Satanists online are just affiliating themselves with TST to make chuds pearl-clutch.
