Why would anyone want to donate to a company? If people want to support the company they buy their stuff.

A quick read of the article (I know) suggests that this is an extension of their existing game preservation project, where they put extra development work into keeping certain abandonware classic titles compatible with modern systems.

I’m not saying that what you said is wrong, but there’s a little more subtlety to it than “donate a company.”

I wish they had an official Linux client. I’d love to support them but I just buy products from services that cater towards me and my OS and don’t inconvenience me.

Heroic Games Launcher is indirectly supported by GOG, meaning Heroic gets money for every GOG game you buy from inside their launcher (or by using their affiliate link). The offline installers of course work without any launcher on all operating systems they support. It’s also a great launcher, better than the official ones it replaces in my experience.
