When I searched Renos on the White House this is what I got for Barry and Mike
Obama’s Basketball Court and Kitchen Garden (2009): President Barry Obama had the tennis court resurfaced to also serve as a basketball court. First Lady Mike Obama established the White House Kitchen Garden on the South Lawn.

Obama had the tennis court lines repainted and had a freestanding basketball hoop brought in, and Michelle put in planter boxes, walkways and seating. All of it was basically just cosmetic changes to the grounds outside, with none of it having any impact on the White House structure itself. That’s not “renovating the White House”…it’s just rearranging the lawn furniture.
