Asked whether they believed Trump has or has not “committed serious federal crimes,” 54 percent of poll respondents replied that he had. But 19 percent of them confirmed they’d still vote for this criminal ex-president in 2024. Along the same vein, 13 percent of those who believe Trump’s efforts to overturn the 2020 election results “threatened American democracy” still plan to vote for him next year.

      Yeah, the subtext there is chilling: a not insignificant proportion of the electorate identifies themselves as people who threaten American democracy.

        as long as the ‘right peoples’ are hurt along the way, it doesn’t matter to them if the country implodes or if they or their families get hurt, too.

          It’s worse. Such people simply don’t value democracy and it’s benefits but would rather live in an authocratic system as long as they are the race on top.
